Became arsenal’s manager when I was 10 and left the club when I was 32. I grew up with him as our manager. He was almost like a second father! What a man! What a legend!

Very true. Describing Wenger as a "manager" brings him down to the level of Mourinho and Ancelotti and Klopp etc. Those are all great managers but Wenger did a whole lot more for Arsenal. Not least of which is making that stadium possible. Naming it after him would be such an Arsenal thing to do and reflect on the greatness of this institution and bring it closer to the fans. Calling it Oil Money Sponsor Stadium is so soul selling.

When Arsene retired I wrote him a brief thank you letter for all he had achieved. Imagine my delight when I received a reply delivered in an envelope with my address handwritten. That Arsene, and not necessarily the man himself, could take the time to either write it himself or instruct someone to do so on his behalf shows just what a gentleman he is. The statue was before time and let's hope either the stadium or a stand will be named after him.

I remember in 2000 or 2001 when they announced the new stadium that will open in 2006. It felt like an eternity away. Now the Emirates has been open for 16-17 years, and those years flew by like 6 months. Insane, that song is so true 'Dust in the wind'..."all we are is dust in the wind".

You can’t separate Arsenal from Arsen Wenger if you were born in the 80’s and start supporting Arsenal in mid 90’s and early 2000’s. Wenger indeed earned his statue outside the stadium. We had our difficult times with him towards the end of his Arsenal career and lost little bit of love but we moved on from that because of Mikels heroics and here we are love brings us together. We love you as much as you love Arsenal.

Makes me think about that Greek proverb "A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit" And the same can be said for us in a way, Wenger was the one who planted the seeds in order for us to become what we are (hopefully) becoming, but he was the one who had to make sacrifices, he went through years of struggle to ensure that we were set up and ready for the next step, he took a lot of stick from some of our fans, and he'll never be the one who reaps the benefit's of the seeds he sowed, but everything we are today and everything we have today is because of him, and that includes Arteta himself.
