It's nice to see football kits not festooned in adverts and sponsorships with just the club's badges on the chest. Something purer about it.

Brian Moore is a legend. Picking out the talking points and putting them to bed without pundit arguments malice or prejudice. Gary Lineker eat your heart out!

Gary Lineker not a patch on Brian Moore or Jimmy Hill etc

Yes Brian is immortal .No comparison .Lineker is cluless .As far as a Show Presenter or Broadcaster is concerned.

dan, Thanks very much for excellent match coverage and analysis with Brian Moore. Good result for Arsenal against a Forest side in top form at that time.

i was at the match , only 12 at the time. Malcolm Macdonald was my hero then.

Richie Powling, that brings back memories. He had been a young reserve defender but got a few games in midfield, where he played brilliantly! Sadly he got injured and didn't really recover. As for "Kenny Burns looking innocent", never in a million years!

When i was 12 years Kenny Burns was kind enough to let me take his photo (he was at Derby Co at the time). He seemed like a really nice fella off the pitch anyway lol

that forest goalie was dire, no wonder they signed shilton.

Burns could play but he wasn't the cleanest of players was he? Brave bloke head-butting some kid from behind.

His punishment came later, being stuck in a doomed Leeds side managed by Allan Clarke. Desperate times at Elland Road, resorting to that arsehole.

Who are the ladies in matching colours sitting behind Clough and Taylor?

One of only 3 defeats on the way to be champs-I think the other two were away at Leeds and Chelsea,if my fading memory serves-John Middleton was no Shilts and was replaced by him shortly after this

You can see why Clough and Taylor went into the market for a ‘keeper...

@SuperForest78 C'est ce que je pensais, je me souviens d'un article dans un magazine de foot, et, sur les photo, ce n'était pas shilton le gardien de but.

Fair play.....Forest were the real deal back then, challenged and matched the Liverpool domination with a really good side.

Well Brian Clough and Peter Taylor clearly disagreed with you. Not to mention several Scottish managers. And the football writers of that season voted Burns player of the year.

Burns was a class act under Clough, although he was a headcase at times, won footballer of the year this season
@richardtaylor81653 жыл бұрын
Agree with the others - Kenny Burns was indeed a good player, could play up front or in defence. Willie Young played for Spurs then Arsenal after leaving Aberdeen so couldn't have been that bad!!
