Mate, Zinchenko is exactly what you're saying but that's exactly what Arteta wants him to be. He's a defensive liability, I've been saying that since Christmas. Xhaka and Partey cover for his lack of defensive quality, but with Partey underperforming PLUS Viera and Holding simply not being adequate backup the cookie crumbles. It's OOOOBVIOUS like Trent - when the midfield and central defenders are on top you can cover for a fullback who isnt an actual defender, but when they're not you'll get done.

And let me just add: I dont blame Holding and Viera. They arent underperforming, they simply arent good enough. Man on AFTV said it, City got Laporte on the bench. We got Holding. It's not his fault he's a midtable player. It's not Zinny's fault that he's a midfielder playing LB. If we have to put blame anywhere it's on recruiting not getting proper reinforcement at CB and/or the manager for not adapting with injuries and players underperforming. Man could have played Zinny in midfield and Tierney at LB. He could have taken Partey off for Jorginho. He could have taken Viera off for ESR and Jesus off for Trossard. Fuck

The reason why City (and Liverpool prior to this year) were able to play Zinny and Trent respectfully was that they both had stability in the center back pairings and in the midfield. They could both afford to play extra attacking options on the back line. These lads are great going forward but just aren’t built to defend at high levels. The second Liverpool started waning on those fronts Trent’s performances plummeted exactly like Zinny’s have the past few games.

Yo fam, I agree with you on everything apart from martinelli and Saka. Saka created the first goal in the first half and scored in the second half. I am not sure what else you expect from a player. Martinelli was very direct and took the game to them,but he was also very wasteful and kept giving the ball and we were getting caught on the transition as a result. So overall wasn't very efficient all game. Just my opinion doh bro.

Why are u failing to see Zinchenko’ role on the pitch is not left back. Clearly Arteta makes he play in midfield that allows Partey to function properly & allows Xhaka to play further forward as a double 10 and press from the front with Odegard. Zinchenko’s midfield posture also allows Arsenal to pass from the back so well especially when Partey is been pressed. Arsenal plays three Centre backs in White, Saliba/Holding & Gabriel. Gabriel plays mostly in the left side of defense. This is how Arteta sets up. Stop blaming Zinchenko he’s made Arsenal play and dominate so much better this season. Tierney is a good player buh he isn’t the best suited for this. The problem with Arsenal now is quality of depth & above all mental breakdown towards the end of the season( like last season). It’s a mental thing. Even the fan base is showing it. If Arsenal is to change this, they must spend on high quality players not on Viera, Taverez, Lokonga, Holding etc. Stop buying these shitty players. Be willing to Spend & buy better. This was even reflected in our performance in which our players acc thought they'd won it at 2-0 nd switched off. Same happened again a week later. Overconfidence leads to oversight and half-assed work. Nothing negative about it. At least we now all as a fan base know how truly difficult it is to be in a title race (after having not been in one for so long).

No doubt about it, we bottled it. I never felt the title was ours. I always said it's not ours until we beat City. Drawing with Liverpool didn't have me concern. Anfield will always be a fortress. But these last two draws are indicative of a team that are playing tight and nervous. The pressure is getting to them. The free-flowing and instinctive team we have watched all season has disappeared. The League is done. We were knocking on the door but ultimately this team isn't deep nor skilled enough to bring it home. We NEED depth. It's a minor miracle we were able to hold on while Jesus was out. But we can clearly see that when we have a injury to a key peice (Saliba) we don't have the reinforcements to carry us forward. We have to spend the money to better the overall talent. We're not going to go iut and spend what Citeh spend. But we clearly need 1st team level play behind players like Zinny & Partey. Saka is running on fumes. That's partly because we don't have a capable replacement behind him. We have to strengthen squad depth to really play with the big boys routinely. But we were ahead of schedule this season. NO ONE expected this type of season from Arsenal. Our best is yet to come. This season was a prequel....not a one-off.

Zinchenko is a terrible defender, he is too offensive minded and often finds himself out of position, or he takes risks he shouldn't. There is a reason we sold him to y'all. Same goes for Jesus, he gets nerves when the pressure builds and he eventually chokes, usually by trying to hard. Your team is young and needs to grow. At City we have been at this for a while now. We were 5 minutes away from the CL final and bottled it. It was painful but those moments build character and teach lessons. We have taken steps to sure up our defense throughout this season, it seems as though the team is ready to get over the hump. We are clicking at the right time. Hopefully Ake is fit for the CL, he has been great for us. Arsenal is competitive now, y'all should be happy, CL money next season. But y'all won't beat us at the Etihad.
