Rice, Odegaard, Nwaneri, Merino can play and Vieira is on loan, Zinchenko can play in midfield and Havertz is shite but Legohead puts him in midfield at times. So midfield isn't a priority when all three attacking positions are infinitely more crucial as things stand.

Not sure why folks keep going on about AFC seemingly blatantly ignoring the signing of forwards. It was on record that there were moves to sign Sesko. Rumours are AFC is keen on Nico Williams. AFC did jump on loaning Sterling. It’s clear that AFC does not want to bring in bodies for the sake of it, especially having cleared the squad of issues like signing Lacazette and then Aubameyang. If it’s not a good fit, it’s clear that AFC would rather find internal solutions than have to deal with a bloated squad. IMO a Jan loan move for Nkunku to shore up forward options could be a good option. Zubimendi IMO is a decent signing but there’s too much hype. Perhaps a Xhaka type replacement. To keep the ball moving and progressing, to step in to support in certain instances. The two signings that would be a big shift would be Sesko and Williams. The two deals could easily be 100-200 mil. It’s a big spend but they seem to have the technical skills and playing intelligence to combine with Odegaard in fluid ways. If indeed incomings have signed in part because of MA, it’d maybe important that Sesko and Williams also buy in to get the deals done

This time we are way off playing rigid set-piece style of football compared to the free flowing style 2 seasons back .. Great signing for us, as Jorginho is on his way out and Partey’s contract ends this season. Definitely worth bringing rice further forward he can add to the attack. But Mikel… but a damn striker😂 Juventus have literally offered Vlahovic to us… and we are fannying around trying to loan him when they’ve made it clear they want to sell him. He’s young and he’s a real 9. Just do it. Nothing stopping us from buying Sesko as well in the summer, we currently have one striker who’s not in good form and in now injured.
