Too many games. The world cup in November certainly didn't help. The body can only take so much punishment. Regardless of how much they are paid, they're not robots. The EFL clubs play 46 league games (a PL campaign plus Euro group stages is 44) plus 3 cup competitions and potentially playoffs so between minimum 49 to 52 games. Its the pre season tours that do it and thats down to the clubs. They get so little down time at close season id stay at home.

Injuries are preventable. The player didn't train properly or was led to train in such a way without being informed of the consequences. Either way he'll get paid several times the minimum annual wage a week for DOING NOTHING while the rest of us suffer.
