The OG was far too close to him for him to get his feet sorted and the penalty deflects off Maddison as Romero goes to block. That's bad luck. Spurs subbed off Maddison and Son for injury reasons. Maddison's was obvious, but Son is 31 and recently had surgery on his hernia, which he played through since last october. Hes been subbed oft in 4 of our 6 games this season. Ange is managing him with that in mind. Spurs werent shutting up shot, its all the options we had left. Bentancur is out, Perisic did his ACL this week as well. Richarlison came on for Son which is like for like and the only midfielders we had are Hojbjerg and Skipp. Unless you think Maddison coming off should have been replaced by Veliz, who's a kid whos been with the U23s.

Arsenal had good press, because of the intensity they created there own luck to get the 2 goals, but in the other hand, spurs did great to deal with some of that press and created 2 great goal. I wouldn't be suprised with the Spurs substitutions. Look at who was on the bench. Hojbjerg, Richarlison and Soloman were the most attacking options and the most experienced options on the bench. Maddison obviously had the injury scare and Son was blowing hard from all the pressing. The rest of the bench were sub-par defensive pkayers in a gsme where we limited Arsenal to very few chances and didn't need to change much. We had one more striker on the bench and he's a teenager just back from injury. This is why I'm realistic about our chances. The 11 is madness, but the depth is not there until some players come back from injury and January roles around.
