Ange Postecoglou responds to a question about Arsenal’s use of ‘dark arts’ after they were criticised for their second half performance against Manchester City.

0:28 Pleased to be back in Europe. It was a real gap in our calendar last year. Not having that challenge was an issue for us. Wasn’t nice watching other teams play in it either.
1:14 We’re getting towards a dangerous level of what expectations are of players. There are more tournaments. We’re not going to have all the best players out there all the time. It needs addressing.
2:09 Players may take matters into their own hands. They are the ones who are most affected. We have a responsibility as clubs to help players. We have to use our squads to cope with all the competitions.
3:15 There have always been dominant teams with possession and other times where teams require less of the ball. It’s a counter-balance of what can be successful. It’s down to the quality of teams and how they can execute that.
5:01 Good v evil? Dark arts? It’s all part of the game but I don’t know how to use it. It’s not been an effective tool for us. The counter is we have to be more disciplined. Some teams use methods to take momentum away from others. I’m comfortable in the space we’re in. I don’t delve into those approaches.

We got a man sent off again this season in only 5 games for things no other players get sent off for and then away at the champions we defend and take our time to play the game with 10 men for 45mins. Dark arts? really? that's standard play for any team in that situation but it's a problem for Arsenal. We either celebrate too much or are constantly playing victim? how about focussing on the dark art of 130 charges of financial misconduct to buy the league? that looks a lot darker to me.
