One of the things they do t bring up about the nwaneri situation is that there was a lot of interest from other clubs at the time and he hadn't signed a scholarship contract at that point. Arteta played him to show him and his family that the club is serious about his future at Arsenal and there is a pathway. Funnily enough it was only a very short period after that the scholarship was then signed. I actually believe Arteta would have rather not played him at that point to expose such a young player, but needs must. This is the single most important part of the whole situation. Cundy just didn't do his research and created the point in his own head to suit his own narrative. Wanker.

Definitely agree. ETH changed his philosophy first season because of the huge pressure to get results, which tbf he got. However, if he had been allowed to stick with his style of play initially it might have worked out better for him in the long run. ETH overachieving in his first season compounded the lack of patience later on.

Look at Jack Wilshere, Cesc Fabregas and/or Theo Walcott at Arsenal and how their careers were ruined by injuries at young ages - Jack Wilshere in particular sticks in my mind most for the way he dominated the Barcelona midfield in the CL of prime Xavi, Iniesta and so on yet was broken by his mid 20's and retired before he was 30 because of injury when he should have been one of Arsenals all time greats (because of his ability). Let Nwaneri develope slowly and with protection so that he's here for a decade or more and not broken by his mid 20's ffs
