I don’t think arteta was “ too safe” we had a couple of pivotal player injures and ridiculous ridiclous decisions against us. Not one other club had 1 player sent off for kicking a ball “ delaying restart BS” yet Arsenal had 2!!! Other clubs had last man ditch tackles yet only Arsenal had a sending off b4 a major game against Liverpool with a Merseyside REF on the pitch. Not to mention a perfectly legal winning goal chopped off for incompetence and bias. And most importantly we had the toughest fixtures up to this point between top 6. And most away games. Not too safe , circumstance are different and treatment is different. Arteta will cook. Imagine how scared you’ll be if Arsenal are ever treated *equally* consistently😂😂. 🔥🔥🔥

The set piece hate from fans is because it’s frustrating that they’ve become so good at them. The focus from Arsenal to improve them though came from two main areas 1) Other clubs used them to gain advantages in tight games. If you can keep it tight against a big side and then score from a set piece it’s easier to defend a lead than to have to expand and find a goal from open play 2) With the above in mind, when teams flood the middle and force you wide in games you dominate possession you end up with a lot of set pieces. Capitalising on this A) Creates opportunity to open up spaces by taking the lead from them, most teams have to open up if you’re leading against them B) makes teams warier of conceding set pieces, teams used to be happy seeing the ball out for a corner but now they will push hard for a clearance. Clearances can often return possession to Arsenal and it becomes a way to recycle the ball. There was a time when Arsenal had Mustafi etc and teams loved getting set pieces against them because of how poorly Arsenal defended them. Arteta has taken a weakness and turned it 180 as just one of many weapons Arsenal use against other teams.

To be fair the first goal for West Ham was just very classy, that pass was as good as any pass you'll see in the Prem. To see AWB in that position was pretty surprising but a nice finish. The free kick was a belter although was never a free-kick in the first place. But while that wasn't a free kick for me our second penalty is not a penalty, he hasn't lumped him like Gabriel was pretending he had been poleaxed. Jorgi won that penalty being in the ear of Taylor, had Taylor not given that penalty (took a while to do that) there isn't a world VAR intervene give that penalty. Second half was cagey, Arsenal didn't want to see it 5-3 and West Ham were worried to concede a 6th too soon as it could have escalated quickly.
