Fabregas was the footballer of arsenal, its incredible how good he was in 2010, maybe if arsenal got another season out of him they could have won a title

His 2009/10 season is one of the most impressive seasons individually by any player in the Premier League era but unfortunately goes under the radar of the general footballing public because of the fact that ultimately, Arsenal didn't win anything & that he spent a substantial period of that season nursing injuries. Fabregas was truly immense for us that season. He registered 15 goals & 13 assists over 2192 total minutes played, which equates to 24.35 games during that league campaign. He literally averaged a goal or an assist every 78 minutes in the Prem. He would have been well on his way to hitting 20 goals/20 assists & becoming only the second player to do so in Prem history after Henry had he stayed injury free. He was only 22 years old as well throughout the entirety of that season while serving as club captain. The hype around this guy would be off the scale if he was coming through in today's game. A prodigy in the truest sense of the word. His injury that ruled him out for the run in absolutey killed us that season. We were only 3 points off of the top with 5 games to go or something like that until we lost 3 and drew 1 of our last 5 games to well & truly extinguish any title hopes. He surely would have been a shoe in for all of the Player of the Season awards domestically had he stayed fit. Missed him big time.

Chamakh is not flop at all. He delivered when we need him. He lost the place when Van Persie back from injury. Plus, we have talented strikers at that time, Bendtner and Carlos Vela. Our attacking look sharp especially with all those midfielder, but Arsenal problem is not solving defensive line back then. Really miss this team.

He started brilliantly when we signed him and scored his first 10 goals for the club by the end of November in his debut campaign. To put that into context, Saka (our leading goalscorer from last season) only reached 10 goals for the club in all competitions on 30/01. He actually looked a proper player in the beginning. Aside from his goals, he was technically very good in his link up play when he'd use his physicality to allow teammates to run off of him by playing one-two's & first time flicks around the corner to compliment his aerial ability, not to mention his ability to get in behind against sides that played a high defensive line, as you can see by his goal against Wolves & the amount of penalties that he won during that period by doing so. He was basically like a more clinical & mobile version of Giroud in those first few months. All downhill from there 🙈😆.

Carlos Vela was so cold in front of goal,why he couldn't make it is still a mystery,Chamakh wasn't that bad if we're being fair and honest, man's actually the standout player in this video,Wenger was a master tactician no debate on that,man was literally winning games in the PL AND UCL with probably the most useless, nonsensical and mediocre squads ever witnessed in the history of the game....mad respect to the professor of football for keeping Arsenal in the champions League with this type of squad, absolutely ridiculous

In wenger era, midfielder and striker not a problem for arsenal but a defender. Arsenal play beautiful football and score so many great goal, if only wenger bought some world class cb. They will win some silverware that time.

Exactly. The Central defence and Defensive midfield were our weakest links in those days, but Wenger never cared to properly address them.

Facts look at the midfield, song, fabregas, nasri, rosicky, wilshere, look at the strikers, chamakh, arshavin, vela, bendtner, walcott off the wing and you still had van persie to comeback from injury, plus more , and they can all play with each other that was what is so beautiful about wengers teams, everyone can play with each other you switch chamakh with bendtner, and hes not hindering no player ability on the pitch even if wenger wanted to play nasri a bit more advanced and play fabregas a bit deeper or put arshawin a second striker, it all could be done at once and it does not inhibit the football, its just the defense in my opinion

Arsenal had huge talents throughout the years. IF some of these players just kept on playing together instead of being injured or changed clubs they would have won everything. Fabregas, Thierry Henry, Gallas, Nasri, Van Persie, Abou Diaby, Alex Hleb, Sagna, Arshavin, Flamini, Kolo toure, Adebayor, ...... instead they lost to Phil Jones and Tom cleverly.

@siberianTiger639
@siberianTiger639 Жыл бұрын
Wenger was at fault there. Chamakh wasnso good at that time I thought Wenger was going to have trouble to chose the best 11 when Van Persie is back again. Obviously Van Persie was brilliant and he was going to get back in the starting 11, but Chamakh still should've been used much more frequently. What did Wenger do? He even used Bendtner more than Chamakh after Van Persie got into the team. I could never understand that?!?!? Maybe the relationship between Wenger and Chamakh got bad after Van Persie got back, but he was basically done as an important part of the team from that point on. Later he got lazy and his attitude got worse while he was known for his immense work rate both with Bordeaux and in that first half of the season for Arsenal. It's sad most Arsenal fans only remember him for his time after Van Persie got back and think he was a useless player.
@radamelfalcao164
@radamelfalcao164 Жыл бұрын
@@siberianTiger639 Yeah, i know. Most so called Gooners nowadays never remember how good Chamakh was in his first season. Things went strange when Van Persie came back and Arsenal beat Chelsea in that match. Persie got his place and Chamakh's confidence went downhill. Again, you are right, we never know why Wenger chose Bendtner over the Morroco but oh well...

All time supporter here. I always liked that Arsene was dedicated to developing talent, but with that being said, if you want to win something, you also need top experienced players. Almunia was not a GK to win trophies. Time has proved also that it is useless to develop a lot if you let your best players go to direct rivals. You need balance.

He registered 15 goals & 13 assists over 2190 total minutes played, which equates to 24.33 games during that league campaign. We were only 3 points off of the top with 5 games to go or something like that until we lost 3 of our last 5 games to well & truly extinguish any title hopes. He surely would have been a shoe in for all of the Player of the Season awards domestically had he stayed fit. Missed him big time.

It wasn’t overrated at all. The Arsenal first team hardly played with each other due to injuries. If they had more consistent time together this season should’ve ended the trophy spell.

Stop capping and selling fake dreams dude! Nasri was the most laziest player only relying on his dribbling. Never seen a much hyped player like him self-destruct with his bad behaviour. Moody short tempered and disrespectful towards anyone that wasn't him. I never wanted that rat to on-board at the Emirates but hey who hasn't made a mistake in their lives His acquisition was in my eyes the beginning of Wenger losing the edge with competitors. That was never a good replacement for Hleb because I followed the player from his beginning at Marseille he was all about flair and individualistic showboating everything opposite to the free flowing 1-2 touch pass Arsenal was known for prior to the Invincibles!

If that was the case why was he in the running for pfa player of the year that season? Why did Man Utd and Man City both try sign him that summer? How was Wenger signing Nasri losing an edge with his competitors? Do you even watch football?

@@jasonh4023 yes that's what I'm saying he was after the individual awards but if I count the amount of times where he had the opportunity to assist or give a key pass to a teammate in a better position but chose not to do it was staggering. He was ill-disciplined and brought major disruption in the dressing room. He recently revealed he wasn't scared of Wenger and saw him as a weak individual on french TV. Nasri himself told there was only 2 clubs that came with concrete offers and that was City and Chelsea not United

I miss song so much. Back when arsenal (song) played through balls in the air. I also miss fabregas, one of my favorite players of all time. I used to pretend to be him playing football when we'd all pick a player to play as. Fuck I just miss old arsenal, I mean odegaard is amazing, but nobody gives me that feeling like old arsenal players.
