Considering this is the last year of Tekken 7, Bandai Namco has disappointed greatly with its aggressive DLC policy. Those who played with standard characters were obliterated from the tournament by Kunimitsu, Noctis, or Julia. I won't complain about Akuma, as he requires a lot of execution (and it is not DLC), and the few who appeared in the tournament lost to some DLC character. I hope in Tekken 8 they fix this issue

Almost every tier list has Akuma at number 1. I can totally see why. Once he gets going, he gets ridiculous. But Kunimitsu is my number 1, because she's braindead right out of the gate. Balance is important in any game, especially fighting games, and I definitely think Bandai dropped the ball regarding balance with Tekken 7. They gave Kunimitsu almost everything and took away barely anything. She has more ninja tools than Tenten from Naruto. Julia's hatchet and her crazy wall-to-walls will not be missed. I hope they do a better job with Tekken 8 and will not compromise the overall healthiness of the meta just to cash grab with overtuned DLCs.

Arslan is the GOAT of T7 for sure, but GOAT of Tekken? You clearly haven't watched Tekken for longer than T7. Knee and then JDCR have the most ridiculous resumes and it's not close. Knee dominated T5, was Top 3 in T6, Top 3 in TTT2 and Top 2 in T7. JDCR is a close 2nd, Top 5 player in T5, Top 5 in T6, DOMINATED TTT2, DOMINATED T7 for 2 years straight before DLC was added. Arslan needs a few more years of dominance to be considered the GOAT of Tekken.

I hate that newcomers to the scene are so ignorant of history, only see what's in front of them (AKA think Tekken is just Tekken 7), and have no respect. Arslan Ash would not exist if not for legends like Knee. Tekken is a 30-year franchise and you think a guy who has dominated 1 game in said 30-year franchise is the overall Tekken GOAT? If not for OG FGC legends, there would be no FGC for Arslan to cement himself into the history of. Knee has dominated Tekken for two decades.
