Thank you for the valuable insights! I have never been to art school, but can understand the challenges the academic world can impose on young people, in art school or any other school for that matter. Btw, I just experienced what you were talking about your work being compared to other artists. A week ago someone looked at my last two paintings and immediately said: 'Oh, it's something between Rothko and Kandinsky.' I had only heard the names and never looked at their works until a few days before that when I watched some videos on youtube about the most expensive artworks in the world. And I can deffinetly say they are not among my favourite painters! 😅
