Dear Lynne My design tutor always says you have to have a vision, your vision is a “stag”....I think it is like a cave painting! I have a problem with the blobby white bit being right in the centre though!

See what you mean about the cave painting - the colour also suggests that a little. I will go away and look at the centre again to see if it gives me problems too, now you mention it. Thanks for the feedback! :-)

Enjoying your work John. What about making the little bit of background in the church painting match the first one , that is with the field, white hill etc. I think the foreground leads the eye into the painting very well. Am concerned that adding anything will make it too busy. An abstracted park bench might be ok.p though.

I am in love with those ceramic balls, and all the different finishes!

Hi Brenda - Apologies for the slow response. Really pleased you like my work. I totally agree that making the composition too busy is a concern. It is something I tend to do and need to guard against.

What I like most about Hathersage church are the gargoyles. Could a version of them somehow be lifted into the foreground? Or gravestones..

I must admit, I do like a good gargoyle!

Dear Llyne and John love the painting! Lynne a while back I bought access to your lovely series on children’s book illustration. The company changed it’s name, and I can’t remember the new name. I’d love to go back and watch the videos again. Can you help with the new name, please? Best wishes, And a very happy new year. Roy Thomas Aka percythefisherman and Britishenglishclub on youtube.

Hello Percy - lovely to 'meet' you! So glad you're enjoying our efforts. Yes, the company was originally Craftsy, then they sold to Bluprint. They have just been bought out again, but are still trading as Craftsy: www.craftsy.com/ Happy New Year to you too - sorry it's taken me 3 weeks to see your comment. Feels like Christmas and New Year were months ago :-D
