I have had the pleasure to meet, chat, in one occasion dine, and drink more than once with some of the giants forming this ensemble, during their several exhibitions, as the Art Ensemble or in other formations, in Sardegna at the venue organized for some 40 years by the beloved Basilio - Blessed Be His nasty🤗 Soul - those are some of the nicest cats who made great the Afro-American artistic heritage. Love 'em and Basilio who brought them in Sardinia when very few local people knew about their existence.

Wow what a banger - AEOC are the greatest improvisational band of all time !! Where others lack soul and feeling AEOC have it in spades and this is a prime example of of fusing the soul of jazz and blues with the abstract avant garde of modern classical music. All hail the kings R.I.P Lester Bowie, Joseph Jarman, Muhal Richard Abrams and Malachi Favors your music will live on forever and heres hoping Roscoe Mitchell remains immortal and at the top of his game as he is now and always has been. Thank you very much for this upload !! incredibly profound music and I feel privileged to be able to see and hear a rare bit of footage like this.
