Oh my goodness, so many amazing art supplies! That brass palette is always gorgeous. I've never liked ANY of the Strathmore watercolor paper or watercolor sketchbooks, but I've never tried the Mixed Media paper, so fingers crossed that it's amazing. Always fun to watch an art haul. ❤️

I bought myself a whiskey painted white enamel pallette and put my fav schminke super granulation colors in it if I don’t put the bats back in I might be able to put in most of what I bought , packing unpacking moving unpacking repacking and unpacking was a pain in my ass almost done

I really love the strathmore 500 series mixed media paper. Its 100% cotton and really nice. I haven't tried the 500 series watercolor though.

I've previously worked with the System 3 acrylics and I loved them. They mix very well and are really easy to work with. Awesome haul by the way!

I love the bag of free stuff because FREE is my favorite. Lol! Happy Belated Birthday. My sister is a pieces too. I am a lioness, Sun child (always with sunscreen rain or shine) born in August, but my moon is apparently in Pieces. The 500 series mixed media books are 100% cotton too I used the 400 for a long time there’s a store called ocean state job lot it’s a discount store and they always have strathmore books and thw visual journals really cheap probably half the price in art stores here in the us, you made the right decision in that book you’ll love it but use it girl!!!!

@@SketchesnScrubs oh gosh, recomendations... I really like earth tones and make them pop with a bright colour. Royal blue 224 is a beautiful colour as is Cobalt teal 408. ginger red 368. and all the monte amiata colours are gorgeous. But you know it really depends on what you paint and in what way. I'm an intuitive painter, And i love all my colours. But i really enjoy the roman szmal paints because the flow beautifully on any paper. i use the seawhite of brighton sketchbooks and the just are special to me. When i was in Rome i was really hoping to find some special things but only found the luminance pencils. And although they are beautiful i like my derwent lightfast better. Personal preference i guess.

I am an October girl and I love your art hauls. I created such a swatch card catalogue with the same pokemon folder thingies you bought. I am using the watercolour swatch stamp from waffle flowers for this. I love oil pastels. Haven't tried the W+N ones but I love the Caran d'Ache Neopastels and Sennelier ones. The Roman Szmal paints are wonderful and are so cheap.

Belated birthday greetings! Loved seeing everything you picked up. The brass palette is beautiful and I love the glass pen. I would definitely lean towards those types of purchases to celebrate a milestone or as a special souvenir. My birthday month is January and since it’s so close to Christmas, I never feel like I should make huge purchases because I’ve just gotten new things. I think I should pretend my birthday is in July. My birthday is April 😊Easter girl. I have oil pastels. I use the silicone colour shapers to blend them with. Oil patels should feel lip stick when applying to paper and blend easily.

Oooooh I love the Strathmore!! The mixed media 500 series is the one I recommended, I love it (but I love the toned tan too)! Mine is the soft cover so it lays flat but the hardcover is soooo pretty!

I wish I could travel, as we used to do before covid but, since we can't I have already arranged to have the day off, go to the hairdresser's, make a birthday 🍰 and dine out with my husband and son. Love the brass pallet but I don't think I would ever use it. I break everything. I use card pages for my swatches like you suggested and it works great. I also swatch out each brand on a separate page so I know what I have in that brand. I have a list of colors from each brand too (found on their webpage) I am a March baby, as well. Tfs

So many lovely art supplies! That palette is so gorgeous! I have to say I was a bit scared seeing you buy so much Strathmore paper, mostly because my mind would not shut up about "But what if she doesn't like it?!" So I really hope you do like it. I love those pucks but so far haven't come across them in any art stores around here. Ryn had it in a video a long while ago in an unboxing if I remember correctly and after I went all over to look for it, people looked at me as if I was crazy. Same with Himi gouache in ready-to-go pallets, AND color erase pencils in any other color than red and blue. Like, I can't be the only one searching for those in the stores around here, but it really does feel like it. Sad days. - Rant is over. Oh, April baby here!

I use an old brush for masking, or a dip pen. Use the glass dip pen for masking, it peels right off. Love the glass pen. November bsby here.

Hi Well my favorite supplies are: Fabriano: ( especially the Vergatone sketchbook ) haven’t tried any of the mentioned ones. Tried the Vergatone, Venezia book. Purchased the Drawing book 160gsm. I assume it has the Disegno paper. Haven’t been to an actual store but I’m dying to do so. And will, next year, go to the Fabriano paper festival. Strathmore: I do own the Mix-media 500 series 190gsm. Haven’t used it yet. Windsor & Newton gouache. Own 1 tube. I’m a December baby.

I’ve been in an oil pastel mood lately. I have a few Sennelier but they are almost too soft. I have quite a few Caran D’Ache neopastels and they’re creamy and pigmented. Also, after watching a few pastel artists, I actually purchased cheap Pentels and really enjoy their hard edges for details. I’d love to know what you think of the W&N you bought!! Happy birthday. All of Strathmore 500 series papers are 100% cotton btw, I don't think you acknowledged that lol. As a binder and I make my own line of luxury custom goatskin leather Hardbound watercolor sketchbooks with all of the choices of all the top Artist grade, 100% cotton watercolor papers. I also make sketchbooks with all the Strathmore 500 series papers like, 500 series Bristol plate, 500 series Bristol Vellum, 500 series Heavyweight mixed media board, 500 series semi-smooth and 500 series mixed media. ALL 500 series are 100% cotton.... they are one one my absolute favorite papers, the entire 500 series line. I use alot of semi-smooth, plate and my favorite favorite is the Heavyweight mixed media board. It is so extremely rigid, it feels like bookbinders board lol, it's like 600 gsm thick and it takes anything and everything you throw at it. The surface is a Vellum finish, but it's more subtle and smoother that the Bristol vellum. Colored pencil is amazing on it, gouche, inks, even watercolor with alot of water! Sorry for the rant, I geek out over this stuff lol have a great one 😀

@@SketchesnScrubs it’s been a really bad week , tumors and ascitise are so bad this week timw for a bit of retail therapy lol bought 3 sets off 8 unison soft pastels,micro sets on sale at Dakota pastels in USA 13.95 per micro set for color families reds and oranges blues and then greens ….got some turner acryl gouache in japanesque colors all pastel colors really pretty only 3.99$ for 20 ml tubes, and 4 daniel smith watercolor water soluble sticks ,I believe since it’s almost 99 percent pigment it will fill a full size pan at least 4-5 times but I’ll just keep the in plastic boxes made for them I’m back home tho so that’s good , with this pain I couldn’t do much else getting ready to place a huge paper samples bundles from Jackson’s get my self in a better mood even tho I’m already feeling a tad better, I’m so glad you got to take a mini vacation when I was in nursing school many years ago I should’ve don’t that a couple times I don’t know if I mentioned it but was a nurse for 26 years all different genres , have you thought about a traveling position maybe 13 week assignments great way to see the world on someone else’s dime and get paid to do it lol.
