Most of the time our winters here in the Vancouver area are fairly mild but during this past week, our city has been buried under a foot of snow. I don't really mind because it's a great excuse to stay home - drink lots of coffee and get out my art/sewing supplies to get my creative juices flowing. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I'm happy you love the book. I use a lot of techniques that provide a layered background. Most of the time just acrylic paint, using a roller/brayer or the palette knife. Sometimes I use paper for that purpose, or paper towels... or whatever I find... The possibilities are endless. Maybe I'll create a video tutorial on how to create backgrounds. :)

Your art journal is beautiful. It needs to be preserved. I'm sitting here worrying about the pages sticking, maybe some type of paper between the pages for when you are storing it. *worries* lol.
