I am so glad you are *you*, Aaron. Thank you for your unedited, messy, loving, lovable, generous, creative self...I like your idea of wrapping the key in wire and adding beads as you wrapped. Many thanks.

really liking the page, the wallpaper piece is amazing!. do you think you need to have a voice? some might argue that what they, france/donna etc do is amazing and wonderful artistic but mainly the same. using the same materials and high end brand names. I believe that what you and other people (artists in their on right) create has a voice also, and sometimes more original in the way they create and what (often limited) materials they use. I can spot an Aaron page from across the Atlantic!

Hi Aaron, if you spray those strips with water (put them on some waxed paper first, though) and let it sit out for a while, it will activate the plaster and set it. Then the strips will be hard, but keep their texture and the plaster won't mix with your inks. Also, try spraying it with some Dylusions and it will harden AND be colorful. (Just a tip from this art teacher/Aaron fangirl!) b t w you DO have a voice! It shows in your marks, and color combos, and choice of materials. Arty-on!

Aaron, I respectfully disagree with your statement that you don't have a voice in Art Journaling. I can tell when a piece is based on some of your original ideas. We all borrow from someone or something, what we do with that borrowed inspiration is when our voices are heard. I love your work, inspired by others or straight from your mind, I always hear your voice in it. Keep doing what you do cause you inspire as much as France, Donna or any others out there.

This page is one of my favourites, I also use wallpaper pieces in my journal, our local stores lets you take pieces for nothing so that's a bonus for me. I absolutely love your use of the wallpaper, when I first saw your work I thought what a beautiful piece of metal, then when I watched I thought wow, must try that at home. Awesome as ever :)

I love those colors!! I enjoy watching your process. When I first started doing my Art Journal, I was panicked about making any messes. You are so free with your process. It has almost given me permission to go crazy. Just relax and enjoy the journey. Lol. Thank you!!

I agree Aaron, You have a VOICE & a Loud one at that...LOL...Honestly I can tell your style from others. Every one borrows Bits & Pieces from others, then takes that knowledge & makes it their own. When you think about it there is no original idea or technic that some one hasn't done already, started way back with the Cave men...The originality comes in how we apply that knowledge to our own Art...A teacher tells a class room of kids to draw an apple, no two interpretations are alike...that's the beauty of Art, No Rules, just the Freedom to create & be ourselves. If others like it it's a Bonus, if they don't who cares it's what makes you Happy that counts. So Just be yourself & create. Love you Kiddo, AWESOME Job on this one !!! XXXOOO

Fabulous page! Simple but very strong. The wallpaper looks amazing :-) (Besides using it for adding dimension, I like to stamp with it, too.) While your voice sounds for yourself like talking underwater, it's is loud and clear for everybody else. :-) Just keep going! Hugs, Ildiko

This is a late comment bc I'm behind. But, I wanted to tell you that you definitely have your own voice. I can recognize your pages any where. I get Google comments from some of my favorite artists and I always recognize your work. You may be inspired by others but you do it in your own style. I'm one of those types of artists that have many styles so it's harder to recognize my work but it's bc I like to do different things. I might have a series of similar pages but ultimate my style changes. France Papillion, Packer Di and all those other artists that have found their groove are awesome but for me I get bored doing the same thing in different ways. I like the variety of work I do. So, I have different journals that I work in for each type and go back and forth when I feel like it. I am no way criticizing those artists bc I love their styles and watch them religiously. You are definitely finding your groove.

I like the colors and the mix of media on t his piece. Nicely done. Don't worry if you feel haven't developed a style. It takes a lot of experimenting then in time you will develop your personal look.. Everyone does. Look back at the first videos of artists you like. Unless they were painting for years you can see their style take form.

Oh my goodness kiddo, what do you mean that you don't have a voice. When I see one of your pages I know it is yours. You, sir are unique and by just creating something that makes it yours. I love this especially when I saw the wall paper border, I do believe I have a bit of that. I am going to have to rummage around and see if I can find it.

hi aaron i want to say that i believe you do, in fact, have a strong 'voice'. what separates you from the rest is you have a 'scientific' approach. you tell us about the different mediums and how they will react and respond with one another. you explain it in such a way that makes it easy for us ding-dongs to understand! so, (as you would say), thank you, and keep making your videos. also, you know, packer-di is fab but she isn't better than you - france is brilliant, yes, but you, also, are a very fine artist and i love you! your videos are soothing and comfortable and i feel i can achieve some of your projects. i like to use watercolours rather than acrylics, mostly, and hand-drawn faces and magazine cuttings too, but those are the only differences in attack. michele (from south australia) 🐘

In my experience there are two general kinds of creative angst. The first iid all about fear and worthiness. The second is from artists who call themselves artists yet angst about originality. It's painful when you compare yourself. Unique creative voice happens when you work those Six Degrees away from who inspires you. If X does this then add B because X never ever would.

Curious, do you envision your final product before beginning or do you intuitively make decisions as you go along in the process? Love your work, as always.
