Thanks, Karen! When I make something ugly, it's ok, because I've learned what NOT to do. Then I just turn the page, or cover it in gesso and start again. Yes, I DO make ugly stuff sometimes!! lol

So pretty! I wish I had an ounce of your talent. Somehow when you just “have fun” it looks as though it were perfectly planned. When I try, it’s just a blobby mess. I wonder if I’ll ever be able to “see” how to compose a page without copying someone else’s idea. Until then, I’ll just keep trying.

Hi Kim, I know what you mean here. If I can tell you what I do... I take the ideas from fabulous artists such as Amber here, and rather than copy exactly, I change up bits of my piece. By doing this regularly somehow it then becomes second nature when you go it alone without a reference. I hope this makes sense. 😊💛

I have still yet to paint and play with all of the new items I have. Anytime I want to I stop myself because I dont have time to let it dry. I need to go by a heat gun.. not going to ruin my hair dryer for it. I do though however have a old hair dryer that only blows cool air. Will this work to dry it between layers quickly also?

Never would have occurred to me to dip the Scribble Sticks straight into water. I am such an idiot... I do it with my Inktense pencils and diluted fabric medium on quilts... I also love the way you use the SS to splatter.

Hi Amber - I have two questions for you. First, why do you use clear gesso at times and then white, other times. The second question is why do you use heavy body acrylics at times and fluid at other times. Is it a texture thing? Thanks 😊

I used clear on this one because I thought I might want to color of the canvas to show through. Fluid acrylics are usually somewhat transparent, and heavy body acrylics are not. =)
