I had to go to my 3rd or 4th type of "bar" I could think of. I got it with no hints, but it took me about 7:45.

The strands theme comes up rather frequently in connections too. We all sit at computer screens for so long that those terms have become invisible to us.

Menu bars are really just a Mac thing at this point. They started to fall out of favor on Windows 15+ years ago, and none of the phone or tablet devices have ever had them. I guess tool bars are still common enough, and everybody has an address bar, but this is starting to become pretty esoteric knowledge.

Just saying HELLO and I was fine in Wordle/Connections. I have been spending some time with Doug/Kenny. I can relate to Kenny in many ways. As with you, Art, I knew that you would get "back on track." You are good in these NYT games. 😊

A great wordle day for me! I got it in 3, adieu, widow, dingo. Strands was straight forward once you cracked the code. The stock threw me for a bit. Another pretty straightforward one. I called a small bit a skosh.

All those things are items on a menu bar, haha. Pretty fun. But your Strands was my Wordle. Got it in 6 but it took me forever to figure out. Oh and I called Connections, I guess I was just too fixated on POCKET being in the pool category, and I didn’t get the Purple.

I also saw that billiards/snooker/pool was a category but so many options unless you got lucky or saw BOOK you'd run out of tries. I didn't get lucky 😂 so just got yellow and green

You can eliminate "pocket" from Billiards Equipment. The pocket is a part of the table, not separate equipment. Now "table" could be equipment necessary to play pool/billiards/snooker.

It was a similar day for me as well. Started with Wordle, (3/6) DERRY ( D got placed ) DONUT ( N got placed, O out of position ) DINGO Strands was tough for me, can see window, stool and menu but could not get spangram. Had to struggle through it to complete this one. Connections Immediately saw billiard connection that ends up costing me 2 guesses. With POCKET and MATCH also close to it. Third guess got it. Got the yellow category then, a small amount of something. Then got purple with book.

Believe it or not I actually Got Wordle in 2. DINGO was the first word that came to mind after DERRY DERRY DINGO Did terrible on the other stuff, but hey, at least I did well on Wordle! Also got Strands without any hints, though I didn't get the Spangram first (I got it 4th). I was convinced Stool was a word.

Strands 79, 7 Complete disaster. I saw most of the theme words but I couldn't figure out where the spangram was (I had MENU by itself which blocked off the top and I didn't think to try to extend that word. I even tried FAVORITESWINDOW. Ended up getting the spangram last, total solve time over 14 minutes. ------------------------- Connections 345, 7.5 4+2.5 base, order bonus. Tiny amount in cooking (0.5) - TOO specific. Discount (1) Pool Stuff (0.5) - I meant the table game, but i picked the wrong one. __ Book (0.5) - didn't specify "that's not a book" I had to sleep it on it overnight to figure out the purple which took the odd man out of the blue, but that's because I had pool instead of billiards. Billiards has no pockets.
