Spoilers ahead: I was curious and did some calculations. The chance of finding the fox with only the first three tiles is about 8.9%. That happening at least four times in nine attempts has a 0.8% chance.

Question how did you do the calculation because I thought it would be the number ways of producing a lose which is 2 divided the number of possible outcomes in 3 moves. 3 to the 3rd power or 27. 2/27 or 7.4%

Oh wait I just realized my error. There is no replacement so my calculation is wrong. Maybe yours is right then. Though when keep doing rough estimates in my head and thinking the answer should be close to 1/3. Hmmmm we know if it’s an O at the start then it’s not a lose. There is a 1/3 of an O and 2/3 not O. So 2/3 and then 1/3 then what’s the chance of being a specific letter 1/3. Though these are all rounded estimates assuming infinite letters instead of just 5 each. But 1/3 times 2/3 times 1/3 = 7.4 %. Wait i just got the answer i had before. Nevermind im confused i guess.

@@kennyalbano1922 There's 16 total chips. 5 are F, 6 are O, 5 are X. In order to lose, you need to pull an X or an F first, which is 10/16. You then pull an O, which is 6/15 [we removed one chip in the last draw] and finally you need a 5/14 since you can't repeat the first letter. OP probably didn't account for starting with X so if the number looks wrong here, replace the first 10/16 with 5/16. Then you take that answer and then power it by the amount of times you do the test (if you do it twice its the answer^2, three times it's answer^3, etc.)
