I feel the Dalai Lama is constrained in these kinds of gatherings due to the fact he cannot expound on his ideas in his mother tongue.

I love watching a younger His Holiness. You can see a dramatic change of sharpness of mind and his message. It's so much fresher and sincere. Not to say he's not currently sincere, but you can see the Tibetan struggle has really taken a tole on him. It is natural though, so no judgment.

I had the pleasure of meeting with the Dalai Lama and speaking with him about life and the world. At the end of our time together he asked how I would go forward and change the world and humanity. I had an epiphany and suggested he start a business with Tommy Bahama and call the company Dalai-Bahama and create a line of clothes and colognes and sandals that when you bought them and used them they would immediately bring you to Nirvana! He laughed for like twenty minutes!

@24:28 "You cant get to heaven". I think what David Bohm was trying to say went right over the heads of most. You can't get to heaven because it surrounds us always. Distance only exists within the mind.

I feel bad for the people who don't understand. The issue honestly is the simplest thing in the world to understand, but through the cyclical trapping mechanism of thinking, it's very hard for us to push through the negative momentum of thinking compulsively. So, all we can do for those who do not yet understand (the close minded), is to exercise compassion and patience. You were not born enlightened either. You grow wise through great teachers. Be a great teacher too. The only hope for humanity lies in clarity. Be intolerant of stupidity and muddle-headed thinking but patient with those who sincerely are trying to understand.

Wonderful to hear this but sad that it's always so much about the mind and not about the sensing-feeling-heart where all passion comes into being. And we desperately need passion in order to bring some wisdom into the insanity in this world.

I think not, a lot of the main differences had been reduced, and responding to @Wallace West, what Bohm was saying is that, we do not have to see these consequences as problems because we start to thinking in a practical solution, so if we think that people have to change the way they are thinking we have to begin with our self, also changing how we think may help others to changing how they think (if they are willing to)

I think the key word in your post is "seem" -- things seem to have only gotten worse. Yes, that's what it "looks" like. We have far more information about what is going on the world, accessible to us daily, about what is going on daily, than we did 30 years ago. Some things, climate, species loss, habitat destruction, some aspects of global politics, US election fraud, may have indeed gotten worse. 30 years ago they were all already on that trajectory. And they'd be even worse if we hadn't had all the information available that has allowed us collectively to even begin to challenge those destructive changes.
@ThomiX0.0
@ThomiX0.0 3 жыл бұрын
@@augustmohr9821 , yes, it is worse. Wait another 100 years and you can still see it is worse, we cannot hide from that, these are facts. And as long as we are prisoners of our thoughts, there will be even worse situations thought out. When a teacher, approach a student, thinking he knows more then him, he cannot together discover..and the competition is then funded. They never become 'the whole', and violence is bourne.., becoming 'better' then others. All the lifetime of the student becomes a struggle, never ending untill he dies. Although socially excepted he is violent towards others, he wants to be the winner by his programmed thoughts, discarding the lesser..silently or not, he is still egoistic. But we still ruin the life of our youngsters, we ourselves haven't 'seen' the whole, and by that we have to follow our thoughts.. Making problems while we think solved one..,worse and worse.

Here is an example of why these conferences matter. David Bohm said in this conference 30 years ago, "I think we should forgive all the debt of the third world because' ..... they are spending considerable amounts of money on paying back the interest on the debt and the money could be better used to grow their own economies or improve heir own societies. Of course, Bohm had a simplistic view of the problem, but that aside, let us take his words at face value. Today 30 years later we are experiencing a global pandemic and the United States will print 4 trillion dollars at the blink of an eye. This money is to allow the USA to get through this troubled period of say 6 months. Third world countries carry the burden and the United States relieves its burden in a snap of the fingers. Now, go back and listen to his words in the context in which they were given. It does cause one to think!

I wish someone in the discussion had introduced the term, "systems thinking" to the conversation instead of 'wholeness'. These folks are batting around a sense of mystery like a ball of yarn. You can see everyone talking past one another when using the word 'wholeness',... Some think we need to become more honest, and humble. Some think we need to be ruthlessly less deluded, some from a science or engineering standpoint think we need to be rigidly more thorough in our analysis. If they had had the term "systems thinking" the conversation would have been much less wishy-washy.

David Böhm: No it's a mistake! 🥂 🍾 🍻 🌈 and everyone is laughing, without understanding that the Rat Race is causing humans all around the world misery, because we have been condtioned, that is one of the rason why they shot Bob Marley, because he was telling the truth.

You see, there's Sogyal Rinpoche in the audience nodding his head in agreement when he is such a major trickster and has done so much harm; one only has to check out his activities becoming more public to see this is definitely so. I know for sure as was involved in helping one of the people who originally exposed him. Why is this important to state here? Because it verifies the point of needing passion/heart (verses mind) as it's intrinsically linked with Truth which = reality.

Washington & laws & regulations* 1776 is going through an adolescent crisis, it is a young nation, it believes it can do what it wishes, the answer is to denied him of his wish not by opposing Washington “the adolescent” but simply by ignoring Washington. Go on with the world without Washington. Just as it was before 1492// 1400/ The eventual business, philosophers and artist of the nation will understand. 1776/ Proletarians capitalist bourgeoisie. 1776 was done too soon, and now the world is feeling the repercussions, the world of Washington created an industrial revolution, which evolved in part thanks to the proletarians that became bourgeoisie, however the evolution as any evolution evolves and now, we are on the technological evolution. Washington has based his power on a military doctrine, while the world has change, it is no longer the industrial revolution, now we are on the technological one. The military is no longer that important as it previously was, wars become unproductive, wars no longer discover new technology but impedes the technological evolution, once the world ignores Washington military; it becomes senseless. Washington has to become a dictatorship to manifest itself. Since democracy is the world not just Washington DC. It is the nation that needs psychological help. By misusing technology Washington has perverted the nation during his adolescent years. misunderstands technology. the path is to help america understand how & why the world runs, the most sophisticated way; once it learns how to properly behave, on the world that they inhabit, 1776 will make a lot of more sense.

This so called artist is not with (at least) neither with the right perpective nor with the content and arguments (to not be rude you know...) as somebody as Bohm and Dalai Lama. Actually he is in a more deep sense one of the problematic aspects, causes or consequences (as you wish) of the misery and most of bad thing human race face today. A good part of such things well deserved by those. So sad.

David Bohm is a masterpiece, the only scientist I could ever bring myself to respect and listen to, and Dalai Lama reasoning sounds quite stupid. He is a jumble of words that makes no sense whatsoever. Problem of humanity originated in the human consciousness itself, how could one establish an order within oneself and how does one even know that is such an order? Could waves arrange themselves into an order of Ocean? Waves abstract themselves and attribute to themselves an independent existence, like we humans divide themselves into thousands of divisions, religious, nationalistic, race, etc etc, but this division is illusory, but this illusion has caught hold of the reality, like a piece of furniture and create a division between what is and what should be and hence the conflict.
