Hey, man! Thanks for the reaction, glad you like it! The song is about the video game 'Bendy and the Ink Machine', a horror game set in a 1930s animation studio that has fallen to the occult. So all of the name drops and references are characters and events from within the world of the game. But you still got the themes and ideas of the song even without that context! Keep up the great work, man! :)

The animation studio was going under, when out of desperation, the boss man somehow purchased an evil engine called The Ink Machine. In a nutshell, it allowed him to create living cartoons by extracting the souls of people and trapping them in ink, allowing them to produce animations without drawing things out frame by frame. Not going to spoil more here in the comments, but, the 'Head Guy' you wondered about is one of the bosses; he was a designer for rides and theme park attractions who got screwed over by the bossman, and left a nasty trap in the prototype Bendy theme park the player eventually stumbles into.

yea stupendium puts a lot of references and lore in his vids with a lot of wordplay revolving around that and characteristics of characters, names and events. not to mention hints and nods to previous or ongoing works of his. like the line "to find the keys in chapter four, remind me have you heard that before?" his 1st bendy song was 'find the keys'. like how ya got the premise and all that without prior context. also was an enjoyable reaction. side note "goofey's cousin' yea id say thats pretty spot on.
@jonhummel43414 жыл бұрын
If you didn't get some of the lines, Bendy and the Ink Machine is a game and this particular song is from chapters 4 and 5. He has a song for the first two chapters called Find the Keys which he also animated extremely well and a song for chapter 3 called Cells no more. Both have some really good bars. Those would also give some context to this song without having to play the game. But, basically, Bendy is a little devil cartoon from the 30s and Boris the wolf and Alice Angel are two other characters in the cartoon. Great reaction, however.

Please tell me you've seen more of stupendium, he's such an amazing artist. If you would like my favorites: Toybox (Poppy playtime song) Onlycans (its cheesy but what do you expect for something that's a theme song for something that's a pun on only fans) Death and taxes (I don't know what game it's from but it's a banger of a song)

I just found this channel and I am really enjoying this. As a gamer and a fan of The Stupendeum it is very interesting to see these videos analyzed as pieces of music by an outsider. He picked up on a lot of the major themes of the song/game from the imagery (both visual and auditory) and I appreciated him talking about the quality of the rap style. Quick primer on the relevant parts of Bendy And The Inc Machine (SPOLERS): An old defunct animation studio with a history similar to Hannah-Barbera, has sent out a bunch of letters to its old employees asking them to come back 15 years after it closed. The last to arive is a minor animator named "Henry" who worked on the "Alice Angle" show. The head of the studio greats him and says he has something to show him. He ushers him into the studio and closes the door behind him which is where the game starts. What the player finds out is that the animation studio was funding the owners experiments into the occult and all along he was building something called "The Inc Machine" which produced this otherworldly black inc with supernatural properties. The inc could be instantly shaped into various cartoon like physical objects (both living and inanimate) using devises the studio owner built and if the inc was left alone in pools for long enough it would come to life and begin spawning misshapen monstrosities. The owner made living versions of his animated characters with the inc and was selling them as advanced animatronics. However he kept getting complaints that they were cold and lifeless and "head no soul". So he decide to "give them a soul". He called the employees back to dissolve their bodies and infuse their souls into the inc to give the creations true life. The voice actors were infused into their characters. The other staff took on stranger forms. "Bertrum Piedmont" was an architect who built a theme park based on the studios work. His soul was infused into a carnavel ride he designed. Most of the staff has been trapped in this place for weeks by the time Henry arrives and they are all going mad. Not only because of their monsters bodies but because the demon the owner made a packed with to get these powers has posed the titular character Bendy and is hunting them to consume their souls. It is not explicitly stated but it is hinted at that Henry has also lost his body and is no longer human. If so he is either in denial about it or doesn't want to acknowledge it out loud.

@mymemessuck47562 жыл бұрын
@@SleepyTaafey no hes got a point. The song is a little over 5 minutes and hes got a 16 minute video. Normally that would be the song with some commentary then a review. Instead this guy pauses to just read out the lyrics or to say “I like that”, what little commentary he provides is just saying how he didn’t understand basic allusions or self-explanatory lines such as when he did so bad picking up on the context of names that the creator added that correction in a comment here. Reactions tend to be the easiest content to produce because your just watching someone else’s video, but not everyone can nail being one. A lot of people watching this channel seem to agree that he can be painful to watch sometimes with the useless input and breakdowns of just saying what was said- and that his method of pausing, rewinding to hear it again, pausing the same time again, just doesn’t make it an enjoyable experience. Nobody wants to listen to the song entirely played out in a reaction but nobody wants to listen to a guy stop to say “I like that” then stop again to read out the lyrics and say nothing else, then stop again to say how he didn’t understand something all in the same ten seconds which have now become 1.5 minutes. Add on how he stops just before the chorus in most of his song reactions and how the volume of commentary breaks vastly outweighs the actual number of times he has something to say, which is like a 4/17 ratio per reaction to a video -5min video. Reactions are for first impressions, breakdowns of understandings, highlights and the comfort of watching with someone else. There very few people interested in those categories that he doesn’t alienate with how he makes this content. Hes not a professional of course and its great work relative to his size as a channel, but if you have nothing worth saying don’t make a ten-minutes-long commentary to say it. If he went through, paused every so often, minded when he paused, and then highlighted some of his favorite parts at the end with his final thoughts- it would be amazing binge-worthy easy to digest content that wouldn’t create such an uncomfortable audience.
