why can't you just do 24x45?

since it will repeat some factors Here, 24= 2*2*2*3 45= 3*3*5 Now, LCM = 2*2*2*3*3*5 = 360 But if you do LCM= 24*45 = 2*2*2*3*3*3*5 = 1080, which is wrong since there is one extra 3 being multiplied. 1080 will also be a common multiple of 24 and 45 but it will not be the least common multiple.

Although 25x45 is a common multiple, it isn’t necessarily the lowest/ least common multiple.
