I LOVE the crayons so much! I’ve never used them in an illustration tho. I use them for texture in abstract pieces. But now Im curious to try this method of using them.

I love neocolors! I have full sets of the aquarelles and the wax/non soluble neocolor 1s. I’ve never had an issue with them breaking though. One thing I really enjoy doing is dipping a wet brush directly into the flat end of the aquarelles and using them like a pan of water color.

I believe a chalk holder or pastel holder should work for supporting the Neo colors!

Wow I got gifted some neocolor crayons, and even though I knew they were to be used with water, as a watercolor artist I had no idea how to use them until now! Thanks!!!

I love my caran dache crayons as well. I just started accumulating them almost 2 weeks ago. I keep going back to the art store to buy more colors. They’re like butter! 😊 So addictive!!

Caran D’ache does have a crayon holder/extender that does fit the neopastels! It is kinda pricey though. Koh-I-Noor makes a 9-10mm chalk holder that I’ve also heard could work!

I don’t have any recs on the caran d’ache pencils but instead I recommend you to try out the stabilo woodys I feel like you can use them pretty similar to neocolors but they’re made for kids so they’re not as easily to break.😊

I just use the larger side of a 2 hole sharpener.

I used a straw on one of my prismacolor pencils once maybe you could try that ..

Mobius & Rupert (M&R) makes a sharpener called 'wax crayon sharpener'. It's a couple of dollars on Blick & Amazon. I have it, but if I do sharpen my neo 2's I mainly use my Kum 2-hole metal sharpener w/magnesium blades. It's also a few dollars. That sharpener works on everything! Neo, luminance, prismacolor, pastel pencils, etc.! Hope this helps! ❤ Courtney
