It seems like your channel is no longer adding new content but I just want to acknowledge how much work and thought you put into the videos I've watched so far. They are definitely very insightful and valuable for those of us who have just begun this journey. I hope you will reconsider coming back to your channel because you've got something special ❤

Take a deep breath. Unclench your jaw. Let go of what no longer serves you. What a wonderful exercise! I can't wait to share this with my therapy clients! 💗 Dr. Liz.

Use these videos as inspiration for leading creative expression groups at the mental health outpatient I work at. Creates great place for approaching topics and opening up for discussion in a different light. Your work is very much appreciated, and a very valuable tool!

I think your approach in art therapy is really good. I like that it's a step towards healing, not just analysing and acknowledging.

Wow, good timing here. This activity is a great idea-- I remember about 10 years ago I was going through a lot of inner critique. I was on the road to recovery from bulimia and was feeling absolutely disgusted at my body, my presence, my size. One day I was crying and just grabbed a piece of paper and drew the "me" I was feeling like. The drawing was pretty ugly-- and pretty mean to my body. I found a huge release happened when I was finishing up and realizing that this unattractive caricature was SO FAR from anything that anyone could objectively see looking at me. I kept that drawing hanging up at my personal desk at home for a little while, as a reminder of the huge disparity between reality and how I feel when I'm not really checked in. I love that you've added the element of writing and reframing into this activity! ❤️️

This is a great activity!!! I am helping to run an expressive art group for adults and this is an activity that everyone can do (and virtually**) despite limited resources in their homes. Would love to see more activities like this that are perfect for virtual facilitation and require little supplies! Thanks so much Erica.

@@EricaPangArt This activity went GREAT! They really got in to it, we had some draw their critic as scary creatures and others draw high school bullies. For clients without paper or pen I had them describe their inner critic to the group and list the things their inner critic said to them, it was easy for all clients to get involved.

Thanks for the idea. I noticed that your inner critic character appears to be white and you appear nonwhite. Can you say more about that and if it means anything to you?

But the problem is when you agree with this inner critic and can't really find a solution when you say something like you are such an idiot what do you do then?
