Hi Zoran. I am stuck with my paintings , being all of them realistic portraits and feeling that is something emotional missed. Knowing that i am in a change process i found your channel which results veryvery imteresting and kind of different to most of other channels. I like your perspective in your tecnique and your way to transmit your ideas . Thinking that it will be useful for me and other people , i encourage you to share your knowledge. thanks you very much from Spain.

Lovely work thanks. How do you paint the face without back ground in place as this is where the source from where the light comes from? I would think that it is easier to paint both together or perhaps background first in order to read the effect of light better on the subject….great work interesting brush marking 😊

Thank you. You are right; it's important to have a reference color value to gauge overall tone. For this piece golden midtone underpainting served this purpose as I knew that the background was gonna be high key anyway. Great question :) Thanks for connecting

Happy New Year from Cairns Australia. Thanks for your inspiring, informative and beautiful demos. I know you are focusing on oils but would you consider a demo of something in Acrylics please for those of us who don’t use oils? Looking forward to more of your videos in 2025. The sound quality and music were good on this video. Cheers!

Thanks for connecting Carolyn. I plan on venturing further into other mediums soon, probably as early as January. Thank you for the feedback. All the best from Canada :)

Do you glue the milar onto a board? If so with what is it fixed?

Hi. Thanks for commenting. Good question; Yes the Mylar should always be glued to a board. My preferred choice is a DiBond panel. I'm not sure what you mean with your second question but if you're asking about what glue then use any acid free bond. Although I have not used the super77 glue, many artists swear by it. Hope that helps. Happy new year.

I've briefly read Carlson's Guide to Landscape Painting and Edgar Payne's Composition of Landscape Painting. Neither of these books have helped my tendency for painting awkward still lifes. Composing portraits or landscapes is less challenging but composition is something I definitely need to improve upon. As for sound quality, maybe it's just me but I find it a bit distracting when the music is playing while you're speaking. Music is nice during parts where there's just silent demo. Hope that's useful feedback. Wishing you and yours a most blessed and happy new year.

Thank you for the insight. Didn't have a chance to get into still life composing as video was long enough already. Still life can be varied, but I often use to use Payne's 'suspended steelyard' design or 'pyramid' One of my favorites in this genre is Emil Carlsen. Happy new year 🎉
