Your artwork is an inspiration, with the mark-making and the 'light of the Spirit' that shines through your paintings. I am in awe of your draftsmanship and techniques. I'm so grateful that I stumbled across your KZbin channel. I pray that I develop a style that shines like yours. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. God Bless.

Thank you for the kind words. Developing a style is process and not so much a finality..ie it constantly evolves :)..But certainly working at it for as long as I have kind of makes your work 'recognizable'. Thank you for the support Cathy

Thanks for replying. You are a great inspiration. Really love the use of the brayer. I like the mood of your paintings. Reminds me of Rembrandt or Old Dutch Masters. Looking forward to future videos. God Bless.

Wow, you achieved a truly divine look in the eyes. I also liked the look of the water splashes on the left side. I wish there was a way to achieve the same using regular oils.

@@t-daze Thanks for connecting. Try experimenting with acetone or odorless mineral spirits. I just stay away from solvents if I can. Alternately buy coule of tube's of water fixable oils for the underpainting, and then work regular oils on top. Hope that helps. Cheers

@@zr_fine_art What a great idea to use water mixable oils as an underpainting to get some of the effects. I also avoid solvents as I find it hard to breathe even with the odorless ones. Thanks so much. :)

I find this super intriguing and am inspired to try. I’ve worked with charcoal doing portraits.. never in colour. I absolutely love this!I just noticed that you have painted (written) icons. I have done this as well. Both in acrylic and egg tempera. So I guess I have used colour after all.. with a large gap before moving onto charcoal... love your work

@@Gehbar Thank you very much for this. Different mediums give you different results. All have their distinct characteristics. I want the channel here to be more about art from an intuitive perspective and intereresting mark making showcasing all mediums I've used professionally. Great to connect
