People have been trained to think of themselves as the ultimate critic, that their 'feelings' on a show are so important that the writers are bad for not aiming to appease that person and especially bad for not changing the entire show afterwards to suit that person. It's pretty disgusting the way people approach media in general these days.

People don’t understand how hard it is to actually produce your own passion project. The character building, story, how everything connects, the time it takes to make it, the MONEY to make it happen. Not every story is perfect, but Viv is doing her best. My very close friend and I are working on our own passion project. It won’t be easy, but nothing ever is. A lot of love and time go into making these kinds of things, people need to understand that. ❤

Constructive criticism about Vizviepop's work in Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel is fine, but hateful and unnecessarily nasty comments are not. Saying that Vizviepop is a talentless writer and that she sucks is NOT okay! You can think that some storylines in Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel are rushed (for whatever reason), that several character designs aren't your cup of tea, that many characters need to be more developed, etc. Those can all be valid opinions/criticisms to have. The only issue is when people are bigots about it.

I definitely think some people are waaaaaaaaay too 'protective' or 'passionate' over certain characters. For example, I liked Striker originally, but didn't care for the direction he took in Western Energy, finding it too corny for my my taste. I'm also not a fan of Stoliz, but oh my goodness, the swords people are willing to die on! I do miss a lot of the tone of season one, I can admit that. I'm probably in the minority on that.

HH and HB are better than most adult shows which are just family guy clones. Most of the hate for this show and viv in general I believe is just pure jealousy and envy(no pun intended) and spite, probably because they didn't come up with her ideas first, all they're doing is digging up info about viv from 10 or so years ago just to try and make people stop watching her stuff. All they do is blow hot air and just whine about every single small thing in the shows, "everything is too red!" "Stolas is a 🍇 and Stella is justified in abusing him!" All it is is just pure jealousy and no criticism in sight, ESPECIALLY on Twitter. That being said, viv has flaws sure. But we all have flaws, it makes us human. vivziepops work is ok, I'm a person that watches some of her episodes, but I also do not engage with the fandom, my honestly, only problem with both of her shows is the fandom, because they've just been extremely toxic and hostile, there's nothing about her community that screams welcoming especially to new people. It just screams gatekeeper bully type energy all the time I've been keeping up with the show and watching everything, but the way how this community treats people in general, it just makes me not want to interact with it I also think people are obligated to not always like her character designs, but they can at least be respectful about it. I feel like people think just because she has a show and things people are obligated to always like her designs in like what she envisions, but I also think that's extremely toxic ,to put that expectation on others who just do not like a few type of things in the show personally, I do not like Husk's design too many unnecessary lights, I feel like his design was not really thought about or planed properly in my opinion I don't like how Angel's arms are not staying attached to his body. He's a spider, I think they should work on how to keep his arms together they shouldn't only come out at certain points or get a better animator for that but I'm not gonna tell people that actually like their designs that, oh, well, you should not like it because I don't like it my main problem with also the fandom is that they compare any other character that has the same name as the hazben hotel demons or whatever to her show flooding the coments with oh this must be vivziepop and I think it's the most annoying thing ever, because these are 7 deadly sins, these are also just random demons as well in the 7 deadly sins vivziepop is not the only person that uses the 7 deadly sins names for ocs and things I think it's pretty disrespectful of the community to do things like this, and I also think is disrespectful, and it overshadows people's characters and what they worked hard for, because all people seem to think about is vivziepop and like I said, I'm a big fan of the show, and all of that been watching it been keeping up with it both of the shows, but I honestly do not like the fandom more than anything apparently, we're expected to kiss her feet because what's she made a show, and nobody is allowed to not like a single thing about it, like and people just act like people look for things not to like about it, but there are some things that people genuinely just don't like about it. It seems to always amaze me how and/or why people like to complain about stuff like this. I personally enjoy Helluva Boss because of the uniqueness that it has to offer. Now, while I unfortunately can't afford to support the show on its merch, since I'm a college freshman majoring in digital arts, I'm glad that stuff like this exists in the first place. People like myself do hope to get into that industry someday as, at least for me, expressing myself through art brings me joy since in a way I'm putting a piece of myself and my intrest out there like Viv and other artists. Plus, in my opinion, when sharing my art, I like to bring a glimmer of joy to those who see it since currently working part-time in retail is tough so my art is a way to bring that goodness to the world.

I think one of the only bigger issues i had with Helluva Boss is that one of the issues that keep being brought up is that a lot of the characters have daddy issues. Stolas is Blitz is Daddy issues. Moxie has a bad dad, Blitz had a bad dad when was younger, Stolas's dad wasnt great either. It's really only Millie (if i remember correctly) that had an ok father. I do enjoy the different things that come up but I feel like that ended up coming up far too often for me

Yep, that’s why I stopped bothering with her work (on top of her seemingly thinking being a white Latina means she can navigate voodoo and is allergic to any skin tones but white, light gray, neons and pastels) she can’t do any character issues that don’t involve daddy issues. Charlie has daddy issues, literally no indication previously until it’s brought up and you’re confused after the episode ends wondering “where was the issue?”

Just one little detail about your review, Brandon confirmed in an interview that Helluva Boss already has an established ending and a vision, while Hazbin Hotel is the one with no clear ending and therefore more opportunity to figure itself out, not the other way around. I was 13 when I was introduced to the Hazbin pilot by my friend of the same age in art class. All he told me was “there’s a lot of swearing”, which was and is the case for like 95% of KZbin videos, so I didn’t give it much regard. Keep in mind, fully fleshed out TV shows made for KZbin, albeit one episode, weren’t really a thing at the time, and the premise intrigued me. So 13-year old me decided to give it a watch and was instantly hooked! Was I too young to watch it? Absolutely. But again, it’s not like KZbin is this super child-friendly website to begin with so I didn’t think much of it. I know I’m rambling, but I find it kinda funny. I am totally obsessed with Hazbin and Helluva, but I don’t think I would be nearly as into it if I was introduced to it today. I may not even watch it. I think the fact that I was able to grow with the series really contributed to my enjoyment of it.

In my opinion, people don't like mixing things in one episode that make you feel emotional strange and blocking, like Stolas and Blitzo having a hard time and suddenly we have a fight with Chrubains and others. I know its artist but they shuld know why when its is moment for emotions and space for comedy. I grew up watching animations and I have never felt such strange embarrassment when a sad moment suddenly has scenes full of fighting and humor mixed with it.

There are two different types of writing styles. Theres the planners and the pantsers. Which comes from the phrase "fly by the seat of your pants" or just making it up as you go. You can tell Hazbin was planned, and Helluva was pantsed. Two different styles from the same creator is rare. And having it work is even less common. Spindlehorse shomehow pulled it off.

I honestly feel like its one of the few things that works better as a comic and wish she'd make that a patreon exclusive or something! The appeal of Zoophobia was that she created such a large elaborate world with so many characters, and that's so hard to pull off in animation. She does it so well with the hellaverse, but zoophobia was built off of every single chapter just transitioning in and out of different stories, and I hope in whatever form it takes we get to see that large picture of its world.

I think people hate soley for the sake of hating. There is no like and dislike anymore. There is no more "well I don't like this show, I'm not going to watch it." Its all "I hate this show AND SO SHOULD YOU! ITS HORRIBLE AND EVERYONE WHO LIKES IT SHOULD ROT IN HELL!" There are also people who hate it because it doesn't follow what the fans want/expected, but then there are people who hate it if it does follow what fans want/expect. I mean the only reason I didn’t like Hazbin hotel is one after the other episodes with plot, plot, and more plot. I would have absolutely loved it if instead of 2 minutes of the gang hanging out that was a full Length episode and we got to see one on one connections between the crew except for these specs if the dynamics. That is my only criticism but still both are good shows with their flaws and shines. Both accessible on KZbin or Main Media and they’re wonderful.

I think the issue is not that some haters are saying, “You’re not doing what we want, so we hate you,” but it’s more so that there’s a lot that she’s done in the past and how she’s immaturely talked to fans that have thrown off people’s favor for her. Not only that, but many critics I’ve seen have noted that there’s no real one-set plot for Helluva Boss, which makes people confused about what exactly the point is and what story they’re trying to tell without changing the plot and then never fully returning to finish that point. Also, regarding the Hazbin merchandise, that’s also not fully true-we’ve seen that she does have merchandise for Hazbin. Another thing people didn’t like was the merchandise of abusers in both shows. I’m not trying to be rude, but I’m just trying to bring a perspective where we’re not blindly praising her nonstop but also not blatantly hating for no reason. People can do both. It’s just how it’s done. People who love the show aren’t better than people who hate it. It’s all a matter of opinion. People don’t have to like the show, just like people don’t have to shout that they hate it. It’s a two-way street.

i personally hate how there is no a good female character development in heluva boss and it seems like its vivz fetish fanfic about gay men..even in hazbin hotel where the protag is a female the story still develops angel dust's, the flyig cats and alastors storylines again. Sad.
