Brings back memories. As a junior in high school and just getting my license...I saved from my paper routes and grass cutting jobs to get a 1977 Silver 400 4blr 4 speed just like this. I ended up getting 2 tickets my senior year and my dad made me sell the car. I have missed it since. This is a car I still remember and can't get out of my head. Hopefully retiring this year and have worked my entire life and hopefully I can find a way to buy and build a car like this. Thank You, Glad I found this channel. Big Time Inspiration. Subscribed.

My First Car I Drove was a 1977 Firebird Espree it Was so Much Fun & got a Good Deal on it because I Kept an eye on it for Years & went cash in had & asked if They Were Selling it, Got it Running in Their Driveway & Drove it Off, Had to be sold when Moving in 2015 a few years after owning :( NEVER SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT! It was in Amazing Original Condition & a Very Strong Runner. One of My Dream Cars is a Smokey & the Bandit Trans Am that car could have easily been made into.

As always Foose puts his touch not always to the account of what someone else would want but that's ok. The thing is I would have restored this car to it's original form. I watched the episode where this was built and given the Trans Am nut that I am, the reason it would have went back original is because it's really a Y88 Golden Edition for 78. Don't get me wrong, they built a beautiful car but I wouldn't have done that to a Special Edition Y88 car. I would have done it to a regular firebird because there is nothing left of the original car except maybe the trim tag saying Y88 and then that depends on where it was built. not all assembly plants put the SE RPO codes on the tag. Not everyone respects the history of a special model, most people want to change everything. Beautiful car though.

Hi John , thanks for watching and commenting! As you saw this car required extensive metalwork , only the roof and hood are original , it could easily be restored back to original but this version has already been sold for 2.5 times the cost of the most perfect original available. Given it’s a Foose car and a tv car it holds the most value as is . We are currently restoring a Y88 back to original and it will be presented in mid 2021 ! Thanks again for watching !

Wheels are way too big , should have the Pontiac snowflakes or aftermarket reproductions a few sizes bigger. Love the car as a whole.

Matthew Bratton may be true, but it’s an easy swap out. Then you can sell the Foose wheels and buy another car w the proceeds ;) Maybe maybe not

@hervavengill87343 жыл бұрын
Should have gone more towards the original ws6 rims. Although the rims are nice but they don't go with the car at all. That is why the car that even bandit and all other serious collectors did , they all put a wider version of the original ws6 rims. Also another thing I noticed is the front of car is higher than the back. The back actually sags down. For the life of me getting the rims wrong and not getting the stance correct. Such a great car but its sad how owners don't give them enough respect to try to keep them more original even with after market upgrades. These trans ams look great lowered better than original but the front needs to be same height as back also the rims ws6 would be perfect instead of rims that look like they should be on a 2015 camaro . some people just try too hard 😆. Long long comment but totally worth it for a classic car
