www.ArtbeatStud... What is the difference between face mounted Acrylic Prints and Metal Prints. This video shows the features of each media on HD Acrylic & HD Metal by Artbeat Studios.
The Metal Prints are created using a dye-sublimation process and the Acrylic Prints are created using a face mounted process where the photo is first printed onto a metallic photo paper.

Yeah at least a 100years for the print. But not for the acrylic. Also the best Acrylic from Evonic will turn yellowish after 30 years and even faster with a scratch resistant coating ...

Does the metal print have more depth? It looks like the darks are more dark on the metal.
@DaddyDFL
@DaddyDFL 3 жыл бұрын
I do notice between the two, the darks in the upper left corner are very different. Why? Also if you have a photo that has more dark tones which would you choose?
@calebcrombie8545
@calebcrombie8545 Жыл бұрын
It’s because the bottom is acrylic and acrylic provides much deeper contrasting which is why the colours might appear different, acrylic is better for darker tones as it provides much better deep blacks

so i guess straight out of camera now means a Flat profile and then adjusting in software to what a Jpg would do. Why do we need to make it a big thing that they are not straight out of camera. Just own it. Yes i do adjust my pictures in LR or what ever because i shoot RAW. Its like saying i never did any darkroom adjustment with film. Great pictures great photographer, better than me. But do we need to lie or bend the truth?
@sctm81
@sctm81 4 жыл бұрын
I think we just tend to say that cause it's so misunderstood by the general public. They think its cheating not realizing that with straight out of camera you actually trust your camera do the cheating for you.

Is there a difference in the exposure adjustment needed for metal vs a normal art paper? I normally bump exposure a 1 2/3 stops at least in the dark areas and usually overall.
@ArtbeatStudios
@ArtbeatStudios 5 жыл бұрын
Tahu Lanyon hi Tahu, it’s not necessary to adjust any differently for Metal...unless you order silver HD Metal. You would then need to bump up exposure and create more contrast because the silver would be showing through as the whites of your image

I noticed the top picture is a bit lighter than the metal one. Do you have to lighten the picture before printing on either type of print?
@ArtbeatStudios
@ArtbeatStudios 7 жыл бұрын
They look closer in person, the HD Acrylic picks up the light because of the iridescent nature of the metallic paper. So it appears to be lighter on camera. No need to adjust for either of these medias since they have a similar white point:)

Very good video and I love the Tahoe picture! However, I'm surprised that you would endorse such a high reflective medium for fine-art, (frankly, for any art). I'm an artist, (primarily photography and digital art), and have been printing my own work for over 15 years. I have several printers but the majority of the work goes to my large format, Epson 7890 printer. I use gloss and semi-gloss papers mostly for coffee table books and as samples to show a potential customer who plan to mount the image behind glass. Of course you NEVER mount a shiny finish behind glass but a gloss paper replicate the way an image on fine art, matte paper, will appear when behind a glass frame. As anyone can see in this video, the florescent lights in the ceiling of the room are overwhelming the image and white-out large areas of your print. In fact, it's a shame really because I have no doubt that picture is beautifully done, yet could never be truly realized until the reflective surface is dialed back about 90%. I do use metallic papers & canvas but I apply a low- reflective "Luster" lacquer to knock down the shine and still have the media's metallic appearance. In fact, I'm even planning to buy some aluminum media very soon. I intend to experiment with the lacquers until I good, yet very smooth, shine reduction. I strongly recommend that you do the same on any of your final prints for display. If you printed that same picture on a smooth, fine art, cotton rag, and placed it along side the one printed on the high-gloss metal or acrylic media, the increased color pop and shading from the cotton rag print would be astonishing. FWIW, Rich

Hi Rich, you'd be surprised how rich the print still looks in person even with the reflection of the Acrylic. There are a ton of fine artists we have printed for that display these HD Acrylic Prints in galleries. BUT with all that being said, we are going to start offering Non Glare Acrylic in the next couple of weeks!

Hi August, sometimes they come out richer or darker than the original but they should be pretty close to the original image if your working space is set up at Adobe RGB 1998. If you are using a different color profile try switching to Adobe RGB 1998 and see if your final print looks similar to this. If it still looks far off we can always reprint it for you, just contact support@artbeatstudios.com :)

Hello, could you please inform me which would be nicer looking / more suited for paintings? I am planning to do an experience and print one of my paintings on one of these two mediums, I just don't know which one will give nicer results. I think the metal one will give the flexibility to work the picture after printing. Thank you.
