"Style" does exactly what it says on the tin -- it fades between the art style of the two pictures. In your main example, you've got a picture in a hand-painted style on the left and a photorealistic one on the right. Slide to the left and the picture should become more hand-painted looking, slide to the right and it should become more photographic. You tend to get a clearer demonstration of this effect with different drawing styles, eg manga vs hand-painted.

One of the most important things to know is your creations are visible to everyone. And they have full permission to use what YOU make. Paid subscription let's you keep private images so others don't take what you made and say they own it.

you can hide your pictures on a private plan too, but every single one gets set to public at first by default so you have to manually hide all of them. But it is possible.

You cranked up the numbers way too high, when you go to max numbers (or even just near 1.000) it starts getting crazy, you need to get the feeling and understand the tool and you can get much less crazy random results and make stuff that look decent.

You have to use user created genes, and mix with/breed from very high chaos faces, especially male ones. Otherwise, yes, you'll be relegated to a bunch of Kpop faces.

As an aspiring indie dev that can't draw but can program and do 3d, this is a blessing. I don't mind characters that look odd, having just the concept helps and i can make them look good (with a lot of work) in 3d.

You know what they say, either change with the times or the times change you. At this point, "you" are no longer the artist. Some call it "derivative work", but there was no work of substance on part of the user. I would say the barrier to entry will be less, but those that can still create totally from their own imagination will do well. But for those that aren't able to do on their own that overly rely on this type of tech, I don't see much advancement until the tech itself advances.

Artists have been using this for awhile as a starting point. As you play with it you start to see what the controls actually do. And you can create genes of your own. Animation looks better after it's rendered. The preview doesn't show what it will do accurately.

Art is expression. Expression is communication. If what you communicate resonates with an audience, your job won’t be taken by A.I. It’s an advanced tool. Nothing more. It will, in combination with other A.I. apps create insane results. But it will always depend on the input given and the way it is mixed and matched. These things rely on human input and that ought to be based on the message you want to share or feeling you’d like to express. If, however, you only make pretty pictures that resonate with people solely for their visual value, why even think people ought to respect your art above that of a well expressed idea? :) We’re good, people. Focus on the message and you’ll go a long way.

wow, i cant stop playing with this, results are so realistic and surpass in many aspects what a human artist can do. illustrators are no longer needed in life. computer literally paints or transforms a drawing to a photo, full body or face it just does the job perfectly. thats the most insane thing i've seen with neural networks after 3D movement synthesis on sports/martial arts move papers presented on "two minute papers" channel. imagine when this can be used on character skin textures, in one click you transform the entire character. and what about 3D hair and body shape, voice, movements. wow. i didnt think this would hit the roof so soon. what's still ridiculous is the price, like somebody is going to pay $$$ for something generated by a computer. haha no way. there is going to be a free open source clone of this any time. i always thought the crap generated by ai was patchwork garbage stuffed together but this is just beyond expectations.

I'm not too convinced, some of these, especially the anime portraits, it looks like they are just pulling from a pool of already made characters, and they just show you an image that sort of has the values you input.
