This is the first time I noticed your signature at the bottom of the mold. It’s a really neat effect on the raw ingot. I like the etching too. It gives the ingot new, more professional look

That must be difficult trying to balance all your hot items on top of those little fire bricks. Have you ever tried using Hardie backer board as a fire proof surface? I have vermiculite boards I use, I think there meant for kiln shelves, Hella more expensive then Hardie backer, I've been meaning to grab a sheet

I use a log splitter to crush the aluminum flat and it helps break pieces apart to length without cutting.

7:32 this is the most important part if you want hard ingot with tough core .. look at BigStackD last video he put that ingot on the ice block again and core couldnt get hard and whole ingot broke... So keep goin and your ingots will never broke 🥰

Nice job! Question though, are there different grades of aluminum like there are for steel? Or is it all just the same stuff, no matter the source?

Slide100 there are definitely different grades. For example in the iPhone 6 remember the bending it was 6000 series aluminum. Then apple learned and upgraded to the 7000 series aluminum.

@@TheHearseAroundJimThorpe a few more, cast aluminum like auto wheels (most desired) cast engine parts, extruded aluminum, aluminum cans (easiest to find) Another KZbinr found out alloys the bad way, aluminum magnesium, magnesium is a big no no in home furnace casters

You wasted too much time showing cutting up, melting too many pieces etc. No one cares. Short 2 quick cuts and move on. You get trapped a lot in your vids showing too much non important crap. Cool projects but 12 min vid can be 5 min and just as informative
