Thank you for a wonderful tutorial. This was the first thing I ever created on Procreate. I have used Photoshop before, so I was familiar with the basics of digital design, but my experience was more with graphics manipulation and pieces like posters, invitations etc (not art). I can’t seem to get past the first green line. The clipping mask isn’t working. I’ve followed all of your steps to a T and it just keeps filling the whole circle green instead of just where I drew the bottom line. 😞

Awesome tutorial! At around 2:31 I can’t figure out how to select the left mountain, when I hit select on the layer it doesn’t select only that layer, it just fills that layer with my current color. I am very confused! Thank you for what you do :)

Hi Melody, Thank you for the great tutorial. when I get to the clipping mask the green color took over the circle, I know someone had the same issue and you said to close off but I don't know what to close. I did tap both corners as you did after you draw the wave. Thank you. Anyone can answer this, please.

Hi Halima, you need to make sure the shape (of the trees) is a closed shape, otherwise the green colour will leak through the gap in the outline. If you need to check if the shape is closed you can turn off the clipping mask to see the whole shape then just enable the clipping mask again. Is this helpful?

@@artbymelody Hi Melody, I have the same issue. I tried what you suggested and checked if the shape was closed by turning off the clipping mask. The line extends to the sides, cutting the the circle in half. When I try to fill in the bottom half with the green color, it fills the whole circle. Only when I close off the bottom part by drawing a line (somewhat like a "D" in shape), the color fills in only the part it is supposed to. Is this normal is something acting weird?

I know this is an older post but I’m hoping to find some help. When I drag the color fill to the layer 2 that’s marked clipping mask - it’s filling the whole circle. I made sure to seal off the area, but when I drag it fills the whole circle…

hey, probably you can try to turn off the clipping mask to check if the shape is fully sealed (nothing's hidden so you will see it clear!), just fill it to see if it can be filled within the shape. Then you can just turn on clipping mask again. Different steps but you should be able to get the same result!

Hey :) I think you probably should check if the landscape is a closed shape, is it's not sealed the colour will go to the whole circle. Maybe try turn off the clipping mask to check it them enable it again. Hope this can help!

I liked the product but had some issues creating the layers for texture. When I selected them, whatever color I had my brush set to would become the entire shape on the layers color

Hey, can you check if the shape you wanna fill is a closed shape (no gap around the edge) otherwise the colour goes outside and fill the whole canvas.

It's more like: - I make a circle 🔵 -i make a Clip layer on that circle and make a red square -i want to add shading to the square -i change my color to green -i select the clipping layer the square is on (I press the select option) -the square turns green

Thank you so much for making this! Its an actual tutorial and not a speed through. I do have a quick question. Right after clipping mask on layer two I draw the line and then try and fill just the shape the line makes at the bottom of the circle. Mine keeps filling the whole circle and not the shape does anyone know what Im doing wrong?

Thank you! maybe trun off the clicking mask for that layer and check if the shape is totally closed! there is probably a gap somewhere. fill the gap and try fill again, finally turn on clipping mask again to make everything stay in the circle. hope this can help :)
