was hoping there are more combos with the motifs. So it's just the 5 monster motifs with 2 monster summons. A hammer that you likely just use once unless you gonna hard cast to get the charges again and a 2min that is just there to burst

This is definitely what i wanted. Not as heavy in casting as Black Mage, but similar decision making on your instant casts for movement, and hoarding resources either for mechanics or burst windows, and then more "sit down and cast" burst windows, even got a LeyLines but more forgiving Really happy with this.

I’m curious regarding if Spell Speed would build well on picto

I imagine Spell Speed will be similar to how Healers use it On BLM its very good due to recast and long hard casts, but for Picto it seems like most of its spells are 1.5s or 2.5s So its probably not gonna benefit from High SpS BLM melds, but that kind of mid-SpS/Comfort SpS its probably pretty good, like 1350-1500

I saw a post on the Forums that some players are dropping the class, even thoe they were excited for it, because its too complected now. Personally, I didn't care for Pictomance, but the mechanic for the class has peek my curiosity.

Really interested in this class but need to know what those 'party buffs' are that set it apart from things like Embolden and Searing Light. SMN does more damage, has utility and a rez. RDM does nore damage (apparently), has utility and a rez. PIC does less damage and no rez, and the only utility they showcased was a 2m burst window AoE spell. No idea what the buffs were and they didnt use a few of the buttons. I dont care about how it plays but i do care about what is setting it apart.

For what I understood pct meant to be our second highest DPS in the caster role, something similar to samurai and reaper, while smn and rdm will be the lowest

@@user-bf7sl3uo9p they said they were considering getting rid of it on summoner specifically in 8.0 as a push for more defining job identity. which considering the reasoning they gave this time i'd imagine rdm's raise is safe

@@user-bf7sl3uo9p Do you even understand why Summoner and Red Mage have revives at all? Or why Summoner is the only one of the two to have consideration toward removing rez? Red Mage uses white and black magic. That is the only reason why RDM can rez and use cure. Summoner has no such identity tied to them outside of summoning powerful entities to do damage, heal, and support. Carbuncle buffs and can create barriers with his magic gem. Bahamut blows things up, as do Ifrit, Titan, And Garuda. SMN was a messy patch job in ARR and was stuck with physick only because SCH gets it. They got resurrection because Scholar is supposed to have it by then, same as White Mage when you upgrade your classes to these job. And because of that, shit raiders devalued SMN to the point, they only ever bring them along to be a rez mage. Those reasons AND the fact that rez isn't tied to summoner at all are why they considered removing rez on summoner and arcanist at all. But by the time they finally got around to such a consideration, Summoner can summon Phoenix whom burns things, heals things, and resurrects everyone. It'd be wrong to take it away now. Pictomancer uses black magic and draws to copy enemy attacks. They are a discount blue mage.

@@fakechannelname8235 Problem is that it is the Arcanist base class that gets Resurrection, and when upgraded to Scholar, is still used to rez people. Which is why Summoner also gets Physick as well (although the Summoner cannot self heal or heal others to anywhere near the same extent as the Scholar who has a whole repertoire of barrier and heals For both to be removed from Summoner, you will have to have an explanation somewhere in-canon as to how the WoL ended up "unlearning" both Resurrection and Physick when he upgraded to the Summoner job
