It’s not xiv combo/pvp combos. Doesn’t work for main combos. They clarified on twitter

@@lighttheabsol6177 I mean I trust the tweet from Aime (spelling?) apologizing and saying no it does not work on 1-2-3 combo. Viper and Picto may have nonstandard designs or you just aren’t recognizing what the filler combo actually is. Regardless though, they explained this feature incredibly poorly in the live letter because no one agrees on what it does

In pictomancer case, I imagine once you use fire in RGB combo, the fire button cannot be pressed and green button lit up, thats why its able to use the new feature. Meanwhile fot standard 123, once you press 1, you can press 1 again breaking the combo thats why its not applicable

man i wish they made classes more original, like if you play astro you play mtg basically - if you dont draw the card you needed you are f?cked f?ck you, but if you do draw the giga card everybody loves you or something like that. Or if you play bard you basically play osu on 2 min burst window. Because every class/job feels the same 123+button shit with little changes depending on the class/job type (melee, caster or whatever)

Yeah thats kind of how Astrologian was in Stormblood. Everyone loved if you pulled a balance card (dps) and could spread to everyone. Other times you might not get a card you want, like bole (dmg reduction on target). And obviously depeding on the situation these cards can be very useful or not to you at the time. I miss when there were many different card types it made pulling random cards fun.

2minutes window is curse and this patch they amplify it by giving another finisher from using raid buff. ffs

It's a sad thing atm to have such homogenization and the 2min meta(if they could just get rid of that first it'll fix many of the gameplay problems we have now), but we'll probably have to wait for when they change things up in 8.0 as the devs said in this LL they'll have a proper direction they want the jobs to feel more unique with by then. It's at least something to be hopeful for even if you'd have to wait for 2026 to see them.
