Before judging him, everyone need to make sure that they know all the facts. Maybe you don´t know the whole story, you don’t know his problems and worries. People are different, and yes they have different morals and values. I agree that it was unprofessional from him not to perform at the last minute but there should be a reason. It is easy to judge others, criticise and say bad things but just think how would that make you feel if it happened to you or your loved ones. Let the kid have some break. All he got was hate from the audience, criticism from judges and even the fellow contestants didn't seem happy with his presence. People say he is a DIVA etc. I for one haven't seen any narcissistic trait. He has always been courteous and polite towards others. He hasn't called any names. He appears socially awkward at times but I think that's where he heavily misunderstood. I feel his shyness, demeanour and cultural background all comes in to play. He seems like a guy who would rather take our support and better understanding of him over fame or money. Let us show empathy.

Maybe you get some maturity - starting with his family, and say, no, he had his chance and that's how the chips fell and let that just be as it was. Life goes like that - sometimes you have a windfall of luck and sometimes you get a little shade. I did think it was very obvious (once they brought the previous season contestants back) that it changed the environment. Arthur, being a huge fan favorite, received pretty harsh comments on social media about his return. If you go back and watch (once Arthur made the cut), most of the other contestants never stood for him after a performance like they did for each other. It was super awkward to watch and very obvious that something was going on. I’m not sure what or who’s to blame here (nor do I pick any side) but just stating the obvious... when Arthur tweeted that, it was no surprise if you’ve paid attention this season that something was up.

I have a theory! How about Arthur found out about this producer that went to Graham saying he is difficult to work with - he hears backstage people talking shit of him, he feels pretty bad.. also people have been very mean in the comments, he gets pissed of and decides not to perform... overall not cool and he ended up fitting the “hard to work with” label, but we don’t know how these things affected him emotionally, maybe he was just feeling very bad and knew he could not perform well live and fake it if he was feeling very mistreat. Indeed not professional, but maybe it was the right thing... as he knew Grahan also was prepared on the songs he rather give it to him than perform and break down live.. i hope he can carry on and get better, grown thicker skin for the industry

Now this video had me on pause and for the first time I was in shock with your reaction regarding Arthur Gunn. I am reminded of how our society is always ready to cut down someone to the character of one personal bad judgment, mistake or simply something they did that the masses did not agree with. This is the same Arthur we were praising days ago. Maybe it points to areas he has to grow. Maybe he has a strong moral background and found himself in a place of conflict that made him very uncomfortable. You do not know the details but yet you are ready to pronounce that his future is seriously at stake because of this. Man, people come back from worse and win in life. Arthur posted a message explaining how he felt. My word, don't think the worse of it. No one is perfect and we should not be seeking to sell negativity because we disagree with someone's actions.. I hope Sheryl Crow accepts the invite and surprise everyone. Was he personality rejecting her. Come on! Give him some space to be human as we are human. Arthur's success is not dependent on those who disagrees with his decisions.

I hear you but can't help thinking about what happened to Dimash Kudaibergen on "World's Best" when the producers assured him he wouldn't be competing against children and then he ended up having to compete against children. He was well on the way to winning the million dollar prize when he dropped out live on the air without detailing the reason. Competing against children is not culturally acceptable in his country and the fact that the producers lied to him gave him no other option. Of course I can't be sure but it's possible that Arthur was the victim of something similarly evil, if not at the hands of the producers at the hands of others working on or around the show.

The great thing is, Arthur probably doesn't care about what people think of him! It takes a lot of courage to step away from the glitz, glamour and fame of this cut- throat industry. Clark, I have always loved you, however your ignorance and arrogance towards a human being you know nothing about, puts you in the same category as everyone else who gets air time by demeaning and judging others. We are an entitled nation of white- privilege and have no place judging Arthur Gunn the way you just did. Very very disappointing. Humility goes a lot farther than a music career ever will!

I don’t think Clark is judging or commenting on his race. A person’s words and professionalism is very important in any industry. I’m Asian and I don’t agree with Arthur’s action of not honouring his agreement to perform at the last minute. 23 or 93, a person’s words shouldn’t be broken. If you say yes, it means yes and you perform.

1000% agree with you... I can see some kind of discrimination on Arthur side. We all know that Arthur is very quiet/timid person, people here in America is very vocal, sometimes they don’t care if they can hurt your feelings or not. Arthur is only 23, grew up in Southern Asia (Nepal), Different values, different culture...So this dude (Clark) you are a judgmental person. All the things you said against Arthur is not right. You are not there to witness everything!!! And put this in your narrow mind, you only heard the other side of the story, He said she said etc etc....You are a racist!!!

So some people were rude and some people weren’t glad he was there. And for that he burned his singing partner, all the good people who supported him, the Idol staff who helped get him step by step to top level...and likely violated a contract. My feeling is...GET OVER YOURSELF! Now he looks like a jerk to 95% of the public and the music industry won’t want to work with a guy that just locks himself in his trailer. I have a theory - and I am wondering if Arthur was pressured to come back on the show as one of the contestants for the "second chance" round.. Okay, first, you are hearing this straight from Graham's mouth, so his words will be biased. Second, when was the talk about Arthur being difficult to work with last season? He performed everything and never missed a beat. So you don't think there's some bit of negativity expressed towards Arthur since he arrived? He's basically been labeled the role of the villain since he arrived there, a Freddy Krueger getting ready to steal the dreams from the hearts of other contestants. And I saw absolutely nobody warming up to him, liking his IG posts, supporting him through the process. He's been met with hostility and if you couldn't see it in his last episode where he was called too stubborn or rude for changing the melody and chords of a Coldplay song, then I don't know what you were watching. This whole Comeback situation was a difficult thing for him to take on, so NO, I will not make Arthur the blame for it. I wish he would have performed, but he had to do what was best for him at that moment.

No matter what, the show must go on. That's how the industry works. But artists literally have mental breakdowns so I can understand if that was what happened with Arthur. I was a BIG Gunn fan before this and am a big Gunn fan AFTER this. But come on fellow fans, the guy is young and can make mistakes. THIS was a gigantic mistake by Arthur even just on the face of it. Look what he did to Sheryl Crow -- he set her up to look like a fool on live TV in front of a big audience. NO MATTER WHAT Arthur's problems were, you don't do that to a future peer, a big star or to ANYONE for that matter. . Think what the industry would have thought of Arthur if Graham wasn't such a hit. NO ONE would have forgiven him. Arthur should have proven himself bigger and better than whatever the problem was at the time, perform as contracted and as the professional he is supposed to be and now is not (in the Industry's eyes), and THEN attack whatever problem he had. He'd be much better positioned to right the wrong. And doubling down on it with that so-called explanation and presuming inviting Sheryl to a sing with him will make it go away? These are bad signs of character. He can sing, write and play....but can he behave?

I am disappointed with Arthur Gunn. Sure, there *could* be things that we don't know about that made for an unpleasant environment for him - but that is *not* a reason for him to bail on the show, or on Sheryl Crow either. It was live TV, it was national - you are probably not going to get many bigger chances to impress an audience than doing something like this show. The damage he has done to his reputation could be irreparable. As you say, Graham deFranco - on the other hand - will have a sky-high reputation and I couldn't be happier about that because I was very sorry when he left. I wish him all the best. Actually, I wish Arthur all the best, too, because I think he's really going to need it now.
