Arthur Gunn Performs with Joey Henry

I had never heard "Been Smoking Too Long" before so I looked it up, and found Nick Drake sings it, but Arthur's version is NOTHING like that version. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Another classic AG rendition. Arthur approached Joey after his set and introduced himself. He asked if he could play Joey's guitar. Joey obliged and this is the result. EPIC.

I saw a small clip of this earlier, but seeing the whole thing and now understanding it was the first time playing with Joey Henry and first time playing on someone else's guitar - wow, wow, wow! Arthur/Dibesh has talent in spades. And Nick Drake isn't exactly mainstream. One of the things I loved most about his Idol performances is that no song he performed was a song that anyone else would have sung. He's really studied so many pure American singers and yet, he does the songs his way, not a karoke version trying to sound like the original singer. He sounds like himself, always. So impressed and can't wait for his first album!
