I feel like it’s because a huge chunk of the fandom ships Merthur… which is fine for them, but a lot of them take their headcanon way too seriously and hate on Gwen for no reason, claiming that she “stole” Arthur from Merlin. Like Arthur somehow wasn’t capable of making his own choice or something 🙄

I just finished watching this series for the first time. What a show! The romance/on screen chem between these two was unparalleled. Both great actors! I am so sorry that the ending had to be like that but I find some solace in the fact that their love was so beautiful, that was the true victory. He also went in peace knowing she had the kingdom. Gosh they loved each other. It makes me see a victory for the show instead of the tragedy of the ending. Love them.

She was only Morgana's servant, a daughter of a blacksmith, initially likes Merlin and always say Arthur isnt her type, and who would've thought she will be the great love of Prince Arthur and will be the future Queen of Camelot? Gwen and Arthur... so much sincerity there. the best. The best series for me except for the ending huhu Angel as Gwen was just perfect for the role same goes with Bradley as Arthur. They were just amazing and they made me adore the kind of love they had. No other person could play these roles better.

Being in a mood for this show after so long, it was only a matter of time before I went to rewatch your perfectly crafted Arwen videos -- which are also going to be like, the FIRST thing I show my friend as soon as she finishes her own marathon, since she also absolutely adores these two (how could she not?). They were just so soft, sjdhdfhxbskjdhj I miss them. (And I'm still upset at how lacklustre s5 was for them, bar 5x09 -- as the amount of scenes from it compared to those from other seasons in this wonderful video testifies.) This song is just so perfect for them, for the changing POVs it provides and the uplifting, sweet vibe that is just *so* them.
