I may have mentioned this prior. I was a firefighter in the states who was released from duty because I was diagnosed with PTSD. When I found Malcolm’s channel, I couldn’t believe how relaxed I could be just by watching his videos while enjoying a nice pipe.Thank you, Sir for sharing all of this with us, you truly changed my life.

Of all the things I've discovered in 2024 Malcolm Guite's channel is by far by favorite. When I sit down to watch one of these videos with nice drink and my pipe, I feel as if I'm sitting with an old friend. We need more poets and literary minds in this world.

Why on earth didn’t I realise that about Harry Potter? It’s obvious now you mention it. Also I’m in the middle of re-reading Mary Stewart’s Merlin trilogy, which I loved when I was a child and haven’t read in over 20 years. I’m surprised how well it holds up. Things one loved as a child don’t often do.

Writing seems so peaceful in one's mind, when you're just thinking about it; but it is weirdly stressful when you actually go to do it. It is almost like running with your mind - it is unexpectedly tiring and intense, yet also unexpectedly rewarding. Excellent poetry! As a man scarcely in his 30s, I can hardly imagine the patience it must take to write like that. I'm not quite convinced I would be able to do it. You've inspired me to get a pipe and some tobacco to help still my mind before I begin my own writing sessions. Achieving the stillness necessary to make a good go of it is always the hardest part for me, especially in this day of internet and personal devices; black mirrors in everyone's pocket which glow with rainbow light and can show you whatever you want to see. Good luck! I look forward to the day I can add your work to my own humble library

Fifty years ago I studied T H White;s The Goshawk for an O-level in English Literature, and later discovered The Once and Future King for myself. On, after that, to Mallory and the anglo-mysticism of Alan Garner. I spent many happy hours in my library reading and smoking my pipes. Circumstance and illness interfered, but in remission now, I feel ready to start again. In the interim I have dug deep into Trollope and Dickens, but now I'm ready for some more mythic fiction and Nightcap.

Malcom I hope you read this. I'm sure you get this a lot but sir. You have shown me how to enjoy life. I know it seems hyperbolic to suggest but to me it's very much the case. I too as many of your followers am a Tolkien fanatic and seeing you embrace his and many other great Christian writers in such a loving way makes me well...feel the love through my own experience. I cannot thank you enough and as a man who was born and raised in the south of the United States I wish one day before the lord takes one of us I could shake your hand and share a pipe and a glass of scotch. Thank you sir for well....everything.

Pipe smokers face an elevated risk of cancers of the mouth, including the tongue, larynx, and throat. Smokers who inhale pipe smoke also have an elevated risk of lung, pancreatic, and bladder cancer. Pipe smokers face an increased risk of developing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). While cigarette smoking is usually the main cause of COPD, other forms of tobacco, like pipe smoking and cigars, can also result in tobacco smoke inhalation and damage to delicate lung tissue. People who smoke pipes might face an elevated risk of death from heart disease, especially those who inhale the smoke. More research needs to be done in this area.
