Ok this was just perfection, from the quotes of everything they did, and didn’t, say to each other, to the flashbacks of what was and what had been, to the parallels of the moments Arthur shared with Morgana then Gwen, and how when compared his connection with Gwen paled in comparison to what he and Morgana had. I loved how you showed how Arthur was never angry with Morgana, hurt, shocked, deeply confused and even betrayed but he never felt anger at her. Personally I always thought that was because out of everyone, even Gwen, he knew her best. And Morgana only came to “hate” Arthur when she had suffered so much abuse, been through such extreme torture that she was only a shell of her former self. All she had to hold on to, to keep her going was her anger. It gave her quest for justice and equality meaning long after she had lost sight of those goals. I honestly think these two were always meant to be, and Merlin for all his good intentions tore them apart, created strife between them and many others, involved himself in so many things he had no part in. He believed Kilgharrah’s words of the future and made his choices based on that, not on who Morgana was, or who Arthur was, but who they could become. He treated Morgana like she had already turned to darkness long before she had strayed (been pushed) down that path and treated Arthur like a great king long before he acted anything like one. Kilgharrah should have known better, by telling Merlin of one possible future, even if it was the most likely one at that moment, he ensured Merlin would go forward taking actions that created it. And he did. Had he never gone to Camelot Morgana and Arthur would have continued down the path they were on, a romantic one. And as close as they were and would have gotten it would have been him she revealed her magic to, and in the end he would have accepted that. She would never have been left alone, deceived, poisoned, pushed into Morgause’s way of thinking then tortured, as Arthur would never have become infatuated with Gwen and the forbidden romance she offered. And without Merlin to move him around like a chess piece, hide the truth of his magical birth when Morgause tried to expose it, try to turn him against Mordred due to his own distrust, Arthur would have learned that magic was not something to fear. He and Morgana could have ruled Camelot together, in peace. Honestly I don’t believe they were half siblings. Morgana got her magic from her mother, and as she was a gifted seer no doubt her mother was too. She had already been forced to give up one child to protect her from Uther, how better to protect Morgana then to have Uther believe she was his. Either way I just love these two. They were so meant to be and you can see the show runners must have seen the chemistry between them. Why else give them so ridiculously few scenes together? Ok I think that’s enough lol But honestly I cannot take blame for this rant, only really amazing videos that truly show what was between them and how bound they were to each other get this reaction from me, so had you not done such a jaw droppingly beautiful job with this I wouldn’t have ended up writing an essay in place of a comment 😄 I promise not to rant on any future videos of these two. Please say you’ll keep making videos of these two? I really need them and you have a gift!

I know it's a little off topic, but I really liked how you pointed out the mistakes Merlin made in regards to destiny because I think that everybody romanticizes his actions and personality too much that it blinds them from seeing the tragedy he unintentionally created (the doomed ArMor relationship being one of them). Never actually thought it. Thank you!

@@blahs675 thank you so much! Honestly the more I watched and paid attention the harder it was to see Merlin as a hero. The Morgana he knew, that we all knew, was caring and compassionate, always standing up for those in need, friends and strangers. In the first two seasons it is her more than anyone who is fighting for justice, to make a better Camelot and helping its people. Despite that Merlin treated her as if she were guilty of crimes that hadn’t yet been committed, repeatedly turning her away when she went to him terrified of her magic and looking for help. He had Gaius to support him while she had Uther to terrorize her and still she did her best for everyone around her. Merlin’s actions, lying and hiding, sneaking and planning, never being honest to anyone, moving people around like pieces on a chess board, as time went on it seemed less and less like he was trying to do what was truly right and more like he was doing what would ensure the prophecy of a golden age for Camelot with him at Arthur’s side. I don’t believe he realized that but things like when Arthur discovered the truth of his birth, that it was magical, and confronted Uther, Merlin stepped in and acted like Morgause had lied. Arthur wouldn’t have killed his father, that was clear. And he deserved to know the truth, but Merlin stepped in changed things to what he wanted. He cared about Arthur yes but countless times throughout the show he did things behind his back to create outcomes he wanted. How many times did innocents die, Druids, suspected magic users, and where Morgana would fight for them Merlin did nothing. I thought it was tragic that Morgana, who was always fought for what was right ended up so lost and alone that fighting was all she had left. Anger is much easier than sadness, it keeps you going, gives you a purpose. In my opinion Camelot would have fared much better if Merlin had never acted as a puppet master, only telling people what he wanted them to know, when he wanted them to know it, separating some while trying to bring others together. Essentially deciding everyone’s future for them. To me Merlin was no hero, he was a young man given information of the future that mortals aren’t meant to have who took it into his own hands to make sure that future happened, regardless of who it hurt, as long as it met his own gains. All the while telling himself he was doing it for Arthur and a golden age. Just as Morgana was no villain, she was heroic, put herself in danger, suffered and fought for those she cared about and what was right and just. Only after years of abuse, deceit, constant fear and the threat of death over her head did she turn to the one person who accepted her as she was, her sister. And after losing her she held on to the one thing she had, that Morgause had left her, a desire to free Camelot. It was only after more abuse, betrayal and full on torture she lost her way completely. Again sorry for ranting, this show makes me so mad, Morgana and Arthur we’re clearly meant to be, she was no villain and Merlin was certainly no hero. At least her and Arthur sort of died together, I mean he couldn’t stop looking at her body even as Merlin tried to pull him away. And at least they’re together, and I’m all for the idea they get reincarnated and can have the life they deserve. Thank you for your comment and I’m sorry for the ridiculously long reply lol

@@sionsidhe9 so true. I feel like fine I can understand why Merlin does all those things, but people only see the sassy side of him and put him on a pedestal. He wanted magic to be free, which is understandable. However, that desire and love for Arthur overtook everything. His love and vision of the future was so exclusive. It only included himself and Arthur. Even in the beginning, I believe it was Morgana who helped Arthur evolve the most, not Merlin. I mean, she said the quote "Sometimes the right things needed to be done and damn the consequences" (not exact quote nor do I remember which episode but she did say it in season 1). Then throughout the series Arthur lived by that quote. That was what made him the great king Albion needed. So I think, at least in seasons 1 and 2, she was the hidden hero for Arthur's moral/mental wellbeing. Merlin is the secondary, the actual physical saving-his-ass so he could live long enough. Despite her initial heroic attempts, there were times where I felt Morgana was taking a more villainous turn (when she fired the arrows at the citizens of Camelot instead at the knights to force loyalty), but I think that this drastic change in her personality was pushed by Merlin. There were no heroes or villains in the show, just mistakes made by people driven by, more or less, selfish desires. Sorry for ranting but I needed to let this out. In every Merlin video, I see so much Merlin praise and I'm like "Do people not see his flaws or am I just being weird?" So lol gotta let this out.

@@blahs675 I completely agree, I think Merlin believed he was doing what was right but when he sat by and let people be killed, let laws that endangered people be made, those with magic suffer, and did nothing because it could jeopardize his relationship with Arthur and that future of Arthur ruling and Merlin his right hand man, you can clearly see he’s moving forward with that goal in mind. I agree Morgana changed in the third season, but I think it was easy to see why and how. Raised to hate and fear magic and to be getting more powerful in it by the day she was terrified. That she went to Gaius (it always disgusted me how he turned her away, he’s known her since she was born, he was the one who took Morgause to safety, he welcomed Merlin, a strange boy he knew nothing about and taught him and guided him but couldn’t give even the smallest help or comfort to Morgana when she was so lost and afraid) and she went to Merlin, time after time she is told she’s either wrong and doesn’t have magic, she’s confused, Arthur was still very naive and didn’t take it seriously at the time, and Gwen didn’t seem to do anything either way. I can understand why a sister, family, coming and telling her she is accepted, loved, with magic, would make her put her trust there. After Merlin poisoned her, which I can’t even get into because she had no idea she was the catalyst for the spell. She was terrified for Arthur and Merlin, to the point he had trouble getting her to drink the poison because she wanted him to save what water there was for himself. Another example of Merlin choosing for someone and not allowing them the truth or the chance to make their own decisions. Because it’s clear she would have taken the poison to save everyone else if he had told her what was really happening. Instead all she knows is the one person she’s trusted with her secret, the one person she told she had magic and confided her deepest feelings to has just tried to kill her. We don’t know what happened next, only that the next year she was with Morgause. Since it was a very potent poison she could have been ill and recovering for quite a while. Alone and utterly betrayed with only Morgause to trust. I don’t believe Morgause was a villain, I think she had lived a very difficult life. Taken from her family, raised away from them by priestesses and taught magic, no doubt hating Uther and how many people he murdered, the essential genocide of magic users he committed. She was angry and sadly she taught Morgana to be angry. Sadness and grief keep you down, anger keeps you going, and the more things they both had to grieve over the more angry they became to force themselves forward. Justice and revenge are often very difficult to distinguish. I think as time went on and things got harder, learning Uther, who had abused her, threatened her, put her in chains in a dungeon, was her father, absolutely broke her. That she tried to give him the chance to admit it, even told him how she felt like she was only viewed as his ward, the look on her face as he still wouldn’t admit it. She made herself harder rather than feel that pain. All she had was Morgause, so when she said Arthur was just like Uther, that he would only become a king just like Uther, she trusted that. When she told her Gwen had betrayed her and couldn’t be trusted, she agreed. It was losing Morgause that put her in a place where it wasn’t just justice for Camelot, but also revenge for what she’d lost. Even then she still wanted what was right, when Arthur asks her what happened to you that first time and how he thought they were friends she looks heartbroken as she replies so did I. I think it was her time in that pit, nothing but darkness and the screams of Aithusa as her body bent and twisted. I think she lost herself there. Hatred was all she had there, chained in the dark half starved. What kept her alive was the promise of revenge. Or what must have felt like justice. I do think she had more of an impact on Arthur than anyone else, he thought about her long after everyone had given up on her. Not in anger but in sorrow. When they’d meet he would always ask what had happened to her, like he was desperate to know what had changed between them and why. She had showed him what it was when “sometimes you have to do what you think is right, and damn the consequences” I think the quote was, you were very close lol And I think he admired her for that, that she had the strength to stand up for what was right even when it was dangerous or put her at risk. She never backed down to Uther when what he was doing was wrong, something Arthur, in his quest for approval, struggled with. I’ve also seen these go Merlin videos, where he’s just the best and saved everyone and I feel like no he didn’t, his lies and manipulations caused so much pain and suffering, tore people apart. Not just Arthur and Morgana but Arthur and Mordred. There’s a reason some cultures believed the future was not for humans to know, because the future is always changing, evolving, what a seer will see is only one possibility. It may be the most likely at that moment in time but it is still only one of many. The moment you tell someone their knowledge of it is now part of every action they make moving forward, essentially by believing they know it they create it, intended or not. So yeah, Camelot and everyone in it would have been much better of if Merlin has never come. Don’t be sorry for ranting, as proven above I have a bad habit of doing it myself lol

Ugh, two videos of them in a week. I'm spoiled, but wow this is stunning high resolution or not. I can see the painstaking detail you put into each scene for each lyric and each note. I really wish they went this way over even a little they have this beautiful bond between them that you edited so perfectly I'm right there with you crying. This song really fits them in all the universes even when they switch genders aahhh. So beautifully tragic. I love how you switched points of view for the lyrics that matched. I love this forever.
