Because the name Arthur is already used for Proto Arthur. And again, I know in this fate universe she is considered the real one, but to our real world she will always be seen as genderbend that was created for cash grab. Arthur Proto is the true Arthur by design, and by being existing first, and for being a male to begin with. Artoria is considered the real Arthur in lore, but outside that she is seen as a genderbend version in the eyes of the fandom, and not the real deal. Anime fans will call her Arthur, but they will always see her first as a girl genderbend, and not a guy, like the true story of Arthur is. P.s. I’m not hating, literally whenever someone talks about Artoria, they either joke around how it’s funny they genderbend Arthur and Mordred into a females, or how funny it is that Artoria and Mordred refer to each other as father and son. People always make genderbend jokes whenever the “Artoria is king Arthur” topic is mentioned.

However we in the real world know that the real Arthur is the Proto one, while the female version was a genderbend version created for cash grab, cause according to Nasu’s logic, men don’t bring money, but women do. They created Artoria, but they still kept the Arthur (Proto), and they even kept the name for him while Artoria is called that, not called Arthur. We don’t need to start this conversation again, we know that Artoria in lore is the real Arthur, but to us fans in the real world, we know that Arthur in story legends is male, and we know he already exist in Fate universe (Arthur Proto), they kept the name Arthur for him because again, Arthur is a male. meanwhile Artoria will always be seen as the genderbend version of Arthur in the eyes of public, which is literally true.

Yeah, because their Excalibur's have different amount of seals unlocked. Arthur always has to unlock 6 seals every time he uses it in FGO, where Artoria always has 2-3 seals unlocked. But this fight is one where both of them have their Excalibur's fully unsealed.

@@astolfo_simp_ The whole video was a mistake. They both have equal strength. Arthur takes endurance. Both have equal speed & mana. Artoria takes luck. As for Noble Phantasms, their Excalibur's are basically capable of the same things, but Artoria also has Avalon confirmed, which gives her a huge edge. Artoria wins as she can regenerate and block anything Arthur can dish out, plus match him in firepower.

It's why we have some characters who are just stupidly powerful, but then some random dude who no one has ever heard of drops them. You don't usually see Saber vs Saber in Fate, but you could always try and compare the skills of their opponents (to see how they react to certain attacks and situations) and the amount of damage they can output. Fortunately though, in the case of these two, they don't have specific abilities that give an advantage over the other, so this fight you can evaluate purely on combat skill and power scaling.

In the original Stay/Night and it's adaptations, yes. Artoria was a sorta strange situation since she was still technically alive. After the end of the 4th HGW she went right back to that hill in Camlann until she was summoned for the 5th HGW, hence why she kept her memories. However the Artoria in FGO is Artoria who actually died, and as such is a proper Heroic Spirit.

The only real difference between Arthur & Artoria in terms of parameters, is Arthur's higher endurance stat. Which is kinda useless anyway because if Artoria lands the first strike, she wins. If Arthur lands the first blow, he wins. They're both so even that any slight hindrance will become a huge factor on whether they'll win or lose. But the fact that there are slight differences like this between them, shows that we cannot just blindly assume Arthur has Avalon as well, when it's not even confirmed. At least not yet. Arthur doesn't have the superior Excalibur. His Excalibur has seals he has to unlock via the right requirements to reach an absurd EX rank level. Which is circumstantial. Artoria meanwhile has a large number of oaths that she has to meet as well. She has confirmed the she herself has never had to use her own Excalibur at full power before, but based on the White Titan situation, it's more or less confirmed that her Excalibur can reach surface planetary level at its peak. Or at least I assume that's the peak. So basically, both Excalibur's can surpass the ranking system in power, and neither one of them would even reach that level against one another anyway, so it's all irrelevant.
