Album covers... One of my favorite album covers is by Perry Ferrell the singer from a band Jane's Addiction "Nothing's Shocking" album is one of my favorite album covers. I like it because he enshrines dream-like images with the use of sculpture, it includes elements like fire that is captured with a photograph expressing something almost spiritual and indescribable and used it for the cover of the classic album cover. Great Video... Thanks for sharing. I like how you expand on the different perspectives of art in other parts of the world.

Book covers! It edges into illustration, but I think it is enough of a thing unto itself to count. So easy to do badly in many ways, and with an extremely important function. I treasure my books with beautifully designed covers. Ps. I thought this was an exceptionally well written video! You worded and paced out your points perfectly

There is a similar situation in language. In English, the upper class used Latin based words and the lower class used Germanic based words. That's why there are swear words and acceptable words for certain things. The word vulgar used to just mean "common"

great video! I always learn so much. usually i have an idea on what exactly it means, but you fill in the gaps and also show a different point of view. looking through a feminist lense makes this even more interesting! keep up the good work~

Great video! Just the background music a little loud.

Yes, music distracts a bit - perhaps something a bit more subtle would work (Classical music or similar)?

Board/Card/Physical games. Not even 'considered' art by a lot of people.

Because no game is art. The act of the developing games is called "game design" for a reason. Games have very specific purposes and functionalities to achieve in order to function as games. Being fun and engaging usually being the most common. You can't develop games as you'd do with an art piece, placing utmost priority on your personal expression through it, because it stops functioning as a game if people can't play it properly. The utmost priority is always to have it actually be playable. Games have art in them, but are not art on themselves

Paint the downside of your skateboard - decorative art. Transfer the painting to canvas. It is now fine art. "art does not have to have a purpose, it just has to be. (fine art)"

It is to be clearly understood that the difference between fine art and decorative art is the function it serves ...as the name suggests decorative art is NOT an essentialelement in an art composition but" SUPER IMPOSED " ON the base element more for visual appeal ,which the base element can do without for it'sexistance .Fine art is open to interpretation and is Always evolving ,exploring new grounds where as decorative art remains always secondary and subservient to the mainelement on which it " SQUATS" !! Further it remains geometrical in format for it cannot and should not compete or replace the main element.Decorative art " ALWAYS NEEDS FINE ART FOR ITS EXISTENCE AND NOT VICE -- VERSA VERSA " .SO ,Please be clear about such technical details in your vedios for greater reach .
