Interesting. Two questions come to my mind (to which I think there are also no definitive answers). Is a piece of art bad if the artist put no effort or feeling into it - a sort of artistic equivalent, if such a thing exists, of hitting a wrong note in music? And, is a work of art bad because the artist themself thought so? Either way, there may be and often is a difference between the artist's intention, or lack of it, and the viewer's interpretation.

Because… MONEY!!! Houses are built like shit, need to be fixed all the damn time, are expensive as hell and are totally inundated with government bureaucracy. You can’t get all that money when someone makes an Earth home from the land.

Insurance companies can't rape the consumer if your house costs pennies to repair. So they make you build to their standards and you hand them and the Govt fistfuls of dollars every step of the way, make your house look better, they raise your taxes. One big scam controlled and regulated by a greedy Govt. and even more greedy businessmen.

Loved this! As a lifelong lover of architecture, NONE of the post-modern buildings you showed seem like anything but natural evolution. IMO: ANYTHING but the rectilinear box is AOK and really, preferable!! I think people's minds get blown because they think the interiors probably look like the exteriors. I'd wager 99% of the walls are likely level and plumb...SOP.

It's free.... How they will get your money if you don't spend on things they are offering.... It's very clear and simple - politicians want us to worry about our life and money so that we keep working for money and they have schemes by which every time you earn or spend 5 dollars they get there 3 dollars cut without working and worrying..... This is the reason we can't have free good pure river water this is why we don't use things which are not making money for politicians

I have watched a number of these videos now and none of them have addressed this question: why do I need a window? Like do people go insane without natural light? It seems like the obvious solution to the floor plan problem is to have a core of windowless units in the middle with a ring of windowed units around the outside.

Because is shit and ugly. In general on the last 50 years constructions get smaller and uglier and more expensive, with the last 10 years being amplified tenfold(the uglyness and the expensive) . Basically they scam people, where on the 60s or 50s you would get something nice at a responsable price, now is ugly shit at astronómic price. Reason? Sole is more and more expensive, there are too many human beings that need a house and not many being build, and everything is so expensive, most people cant afford new build anyway.

I think modernists don't have a wide enough philosophical scope when it comes to "function" and never did. There's a saying we have in my field. Function follows philosophy. Your beliefs about the nature and purpose of humanity, as well as life and the universe in general, deeply influence your practical aims and actions. People need meaning more than they need almost anything else. People need beauty almost just as much.

I've said for YEARS that I don't understand especially WHY in "Tornado" and Hurricane areas they "do not" make most Buildings/Homes in the HOBBIT style.... so mostly "underground". That way when those extreme weather events occur, there would be FAR LESS "damage". I just can't understand how STUPID leaders are.

Because the American dream called for shitty tik tak boxes for homes. And now it’s dead, the American dream and we’re all left with this “vision” they created. I don’t need a hollow hose with a white picked fence, I need an earth home, with no fence since I don’t need to keep people out.

The banking families want you to build structures that degrade in less than one generation that way they can keep the lending dependence going. Also the ability to pay back the interest owed on government loans (which goes to the banking families) requires a high GDP to finance the interest payable to the 8 legacy families. Its a fiat control structure.

My neighbor is giving away an entire pallet of carboline pyrocrete. Does anyone know if this would work to make styrofoam aircrete? Or if it would be useable for the outer layer? I have tried to research this and wondered if anyone could help me before he gives it to someone else. I am planning on building a smaller building where I pour it in like he did on the shed and make some blocks out of it for another project. This is what I found out about the concrete bags in question: 25 % to < 50% Portland cement. 10% to < 25% mica. 1%- < 2.5% calcium oxide/ sodium silicate. 1% to <1% microcrystalline silica. I saw one video where he talked about minerals in the water could potentially interfere with the mix. What are these minerals? Are they the minerals in pyrocrete? Any info would be greatly appreciated asap. I’d hate to let a free pallet of concrete go if I can make it work!

In Chile, it used to be common in more rural areas to see houses made from adobe, the big problem was that there lives the "Vinchuca", an insect that's vector for Trypanosoma Cruzi (Chagas), specially in the northern parts of the country.

The issue expressed is the obstacle. Different soil compositions require either a soil chemist or extensive experimentation in order to determine what works. Bags of concrete mix, steel and wooden lumber, conrete block and other materials don't require anything. You just go buy them and they work. The mud block infrastructure just isn't there.

That is somehow not suitable in my country... as per geographical location. We are annually being flushed by an average of 20 torrential rain or Tropical Storms per year... and we are also located directly on the Pacific Ring of Fire ... giving us significant amounts of Earthquakes too. 😢

I was thinking about that, probably using tile walling could work or even glass. Earthquack would be an issue causing cracking.
