I go through this any time I talk about Madonna with my husband. I was a teen in the early ‘80s, and he was a teen 15 years earlier. He doesn’t "get" anything from the ‘80s. It drives me crazy. Michael Jackson will come on and he’ll ask if it’s Madonna. Prince will come on and he’ll ask if it’s Madonna. I’ll be like "bitch, no, nobody’s Madonna except Madonna because she’s like a virgin causing a commotion in the material world." Then his favorite music will come on and I’ll ask him if that singer’s dead. The answer is yes about 80% of the time… 😈

Great stuff. Madonna was one of the first pop stars I really got into when I was a kid; I did love 'Express Yourself' and 'Like a Prayer'. The album had a few experimental moments that my 8-year-old self didn't really get, still Queen though!

When people come for her title, I get pissed. No one dares to question that MJ is the King of Pop. It’s sexist. And sorry, but some artist who ‘borrows’ heavily from M’s career and is only #40 on the top selling artists of all time list when M is #4 is NOT a threat.
