What are the effects of artificial food dyes on children? If artificial colors make your child more active, irritable, or emotional, you need to learn about the latest research on the effects of artificial food dyes in children and how they can change your child’s behavior.
In this video, I’m covering some of the latest research findings about how artificial food colorings can change ANY child’s behavior.
First I’ll talk about the connection between food dyes and children’s behavior, specifically focusing on some new research that has come out in 2021.
Then, I’ll describe why artificial food dyes are in our food.
Next, you’ll learn about the difference between natural food dyes and artificial food dyes. I will also get into how artificial food colorings are regulated by our government and how other countries are doing it differently.
Last, I’ll tell you how much food dye is safe for your child.

This is greatly done! Thank you! I've noticed my daughter has behavior issues, in particular she seems to be angry a lot and gets so upset over the smallest of things. I thought it was just bad behavior and over time with discipline and work on my and my husband's part, we would get through it..... but it only got worse and here lately we both have been watching her more closely (and so has my mother in law) and we have noticed that it seems to be something more than that. So to start off we are cutting out gluten (my husband has celiac disease so it is possible she does too) and food dyes from her diet. She just had her 3rd birthday yesterday (and had a massive melt down shortly after eating her cake 😳) and so she will be having her annual pediatrician well visit at which I will be asking for an allergy test for her. Our pediatrician is more naturally minded and takes diet seriosuly so they aren't likely to brush it off. I'm just praying we get answers quickly because I am so stressed out and exhausted from dealing with it day in and day out. 😢

G'day All, I'm an Australian pastry chef and as part of my apprenticeship I went to TAFE (ie Technical College) to learn about things like artificial colours and artificial flavours. Trust me when I say that their are ALL types of funky chemicals in those products. Question: Do you know why when you read a lolly (ie sweet) packet the ingredients list reads (E160b), (E162), (E150a-6)...? It's because the artificial colours and flavours in those Lollys are so chemically complex that it would require the packaging to be the size of a magazine cover if you wanted to write all those chemical names out in full.

my 9 year old is suicidal and has behavior issues. he has angry outbursts all the time. I am interested to see how he behaves after removing the artificial dyes from our family diet.

Red 40 is horrible to give to my autistic teenage son. When he has Red 40 he goes from being a sweet young man to an aggressive mean person. I have noticed I get bad headaches with food dye assuming Red 40 maybe. Thank you for this video.

Also keep in mind that each one may have different effects or at least the same effects as the others but with more or less of them.

Great information. I have just started researching on the side effects of artificial dyes in food but cannot find much info on safe foods that do not contain dyes. Could you add links or create a video informing me of safe foods?

Foods without dyes are the whole foods that come from plants and animals - but also, read the food label - it has to include all ingredients, including food dyes.

Natural food colors can also be problematic. My daughter can't handle annato or caramel which are considered natural.

My oldest is 5 and we recently had been having him tested fir ADHD bc his behavior is just outrageous, he's so hyoer active, violent, constantly fighting with his sister and just being a little ass hole man, then when trying to talk to him or ask questions and things it's like I'm not even there literally he's just so wired out he's not even hearing or noticing me at all it was exhausting!! I had herd something months prior about food dyes and decided to go down a rabbit hole. Well that night I went through all of our food and get rid of everything with dyes, literally 24-48 hrs with no dyes my son was like 60% more calmer!!! Not nearly as hyper he's actually pretty calm, he hears me when I'm talking to him like the difference in this boy was insane and not just him my 3yo daughter was alot calmer, didn't scream and cry as much! So iv decided to take it a step further and start cutting out processed foods

We had to also cut out natural dyes like annatto and caramel. They caused huge issues too.
