As more of the drudgery of our jobs are taken up with robotics (manufacturing) and AI (white collar jobs), we must come up with a way to support our citizens who are replaced without continuing to allow most of the wealth generated to be concentrated in the hands of a few obscenely rich individuals. That is a receipt for disaster and instability.

No, it CANNOT "create more jobs than it displaces", that is undeniably false! Anytime "experts" claims AI will create new jobs, they should be required to name some, that couldn't also be automated by AI! The very nature of this technology ensures job displacement, and that SHOULD be seen as a good thing, freeing us from boring work. We're talking about automating human cognition! How will average workers compete against AI more intelligent than them? The claim of "new jobs" is just a way to dismiss people's concerns, and calls for policies to help people.. The elites in control don't wanna admit this stuff demands BIG changes!

And you aren't considering the scale difference between jobs AI will displace, vs the amount needed to "operate" AI. I don't think you grasp the implications of my previous comment. AI's abilities are going to continue improving, to AGI, then ASI.. Personally, I'm optimistic, for how AI should be viewed, and how it should benefit us. I don't wanna accept the potential dystopia, that is likely to result if we don't change things about our economy and society, soon. I'd rather my kids not be ruled by wealthy AI-owning families forever.. Everyone should get a part of the benefits of AI, it should be societally owned. It took years of data from everyone on the internet, in order to train it. Eventually we'll have to transition to something different, but even in the short term, to avoid economic collapse, there should be something like an AI Dividend or UBI, to keep people afloat while they figure out what comes next.

Don't be contrary just for the sake of being contrary, by insisting my perspective is somehow negative, after I just gave you the positive outcomes I feel are possible, IF we prepare. If we don't prepare, we risk wealthy families using AI to lock-in their control over us, forever. Have you been under a rock this last half year? A large amount of experts have bumped their predictions for AGI, to around 10 years or so. Ray Kurzweil has been predicting 2029 for decades now, and his predictions are looking more and more spot on. Those working on the latest AIs, are now saying it could be before the end of the decade. Some even feel it could happen in the next few years, and that ASI "super intelligence" could happen around 2029. I've been studying futurist predictions for over 20 years. I also happen to have been working with machine learning for a several years now, and this year I've been doing more than my share of prompt engineering. So I fully understand what that job takes. If you can comprehend a SINGLE thing I'm saying, it should be this: The amount of jobs AI can ALREADY displace now, is already outpacing the amount of new jobs it creates. Prompt engineering enables a single person to achieve the output that used to take an entire team of employees. How can you possibly expect that to create more jobs? We're talking about automating human cognition and decision-making, the very reason humans were needed.. What new jobs can AI create, that couldn't also just be automated by AI? I can see potential for great benefits, or great dystopia.. Dystopia if we cling the status quo for too long, and refuse to change capitalism.. Benefits if we start adapting now, and ensure people don't lose everything in the coming economic chaos. I'd rather not wait till a huge percent of the population is struggling to earn an income, before start adapting.

The real problem is that we are not working with Ai instead we are fighting it. For example she said you get downgraded and can't afford rent. Right there is the problem why not start with Ai building cheap rent since Ai is Homeless and we are not 😂 We need to understand Good Ai and Bad Ai. A good Ai is like the doctors you meet in hospital A bad Ai are drug dealers on the street selling what ever . So building Bad Ai should be against the Law and building Good Ai needs people approval like Ai that can grow our food or Ai that can build our homes . I love Dinosaurs as long as they eat only plants 😂

So Ai doesn't have to be this evil matter of fact Ai can help clean out all the Trash on this planet plus plastic dump at sea. So we need good Ai not bad one . If we have a plane crash Ai is always in the air directing traffic and any problem before we even know there is a problem. Ai can go to Mars and get it ready before humans arrive so we need obedient Ai lol 😂
