Oh no, I feel intimidated 😀 My eyes popped out at the flutter tonguing. Is that down to the set up you're using, because I haven't managed it yet, not that I've tried all that hard - I give up easily...

Haha I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm using the accelerometers to control sound effects in Ableton Live, so whenever I tilt my recorder to the left that effect gets faded in. It's actually called phaser effect!

I've got my re.corder coming in the mail now. I gotta ask, I've read in the manual that you can change octaves with the buttons on the display. But you seem to go up in register on the fly? Starting around the 00:54 mark you really get up there. Are you using the breath sensor? Or the thumb sensor maybe?

Hey, yeah I use the thumb sensor! There are three thumb positions: Full on, half on, and full off. Basically that means there are 3+ octaves at your disposal (depending on the fingering system you're using)

Do you think it's possible to cover something like the theme song from Loki with the re.corder? It's a beautifully layered song, with some nice synth elements. I just wonder if this instrument is suited for that kind of music, or if it's best for learning/practice?

Excellent! Is there a way to do pitch bend with one of these, such as programming one of the motion sensors or lip sensor for it? I got one of these & haven't figured a way yet & will likely return it if there is no way, which would be a shame because it ticks all the other boxes.

Just curious.... Is the sound coming from the computer? The tablet? That is some pretty good sound for coming from either of those devices. Is there a sound system off camera? I am getting one of these and I'd like to know how you are getting that good sound. Thanks!

Would you recommend this as an introduction to wind synths? It's really affordable compared to an EWI Solo or the like.

How do you setup the Re:corder with Ableton? When I connect it, it only inputs note on/off signals

two ways: 1, you can get a synth plugin that responds to breath control, which is what I did in this video. EVINER responds to CC#2, so be sure that you set your recorder up to send that in that app (MIDI settings --> pressure) 2, midi map certain parameters in Ableton's plugins to the breath control. For example, if you're using Wavetable, you could map Cutoff and Waveshape to the breath control, which would give you a nice synth sound that is responsive to your breath. bottom line: the synth needs to be set up to respond to the breath data coming from the instrument, and you can either do that yourself with MIDI mapping or buy a plugin that is already programmed to do this. how do you play this when you're going the higher octave

Hey! My custom fingering system for this allows for about 3.5 octaves, and I control which octave I'm playing in by changing my thumb position. There's one hole on the back of the re.corder, and the octave depends on whether it's fully covered, half covered, or not covered at all

yep! The flute connects to computer/phone/tablet, and then you can connect your headset to that!
