Gilmore was underrated. He should have been inducted into the HOF much sooner.

Artis gilmore was a late bloomer on offense,

@@lloydkline6946 Nah, he was already an offensive force by the time he entered the pros in the early-70s. When he started packing on the muscle at the end of that decade was when he began to lose some of that mobility that made him a more prolific scorer during his peak Colonels/Bulls years.

@@PeekaPeep i used to see artis gilmore cobo hall in person,I seen him on KZbin against kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the 1980s, no comparing, having to play against kareem Abdul-Jabbar made artis gilmore developed a nice lefty hook shot, artis gilmore played more like a lefty wilt but young wilt power offensive game alot better

This was his last All-Star season and 6th year in a row where he averaged over .600 from the field.

Gilmore was still outstanding player for someone that old.

@@70sfan GILMORE was still great for two more seasons.. it's sad the CELTICS didn't use him much and be a part on their system.. no disrespect to BILL WALTON.. but I perfectly believe in 87-88. GILMORE was still good and even much more still competitive than WALTON✌️

Gilmore and Kareem are living proof that wilt would’ve dominated in the 80s and 90s.

Only people who don't know much about Wilt believe that he wasn't good enough to be MVP-level player in 1980s and 1990s.

The Nets certainly thought so

The paint was a scary place to be in this game, but really in general back then. Artis Gilmore, Tree Rollins, Kevin Willis. Those are big, tough, strong guys. I'd be scared to be a little man driving inside or fighting for a rebound with them around. Good way to get your head knocked off your shoulders or get thrown 10 feet across the floor.

Imagine coming down the lane and seeing someone like Mark Eaton standing under the rim. LMFAO.

Thing that amazed me about Artis in this game was how on point those passes were in the paint! Definitely improved that aspect of his game as the years went by. Final All-Star season, but got totally snubbed the season before that. If Shaq tried to take him on at the same age, he would've been schooled badly much like what happened to poor Tree in this game (lol). Artis still kept himself in great shape at that point in his career. ;-)

ill pick ARTIS over SHAQ SHAQ only posseses POWER and MOBILITY. but ARTIS poseses pure NATURAL STRENGHT and ATHLETICSM. ARTIS is 7"2 and SHAQ is 7"1. in terms of Looks. SHAQ would look more dominant. but when they play 1 on 1. ARTIS would School him in the PAINT..
