Artisanal & Small-scale Gold Mining, Migori County, Kenya

In August 2019 Clive Mitchell (British Geological Survey, BGS) and Cavince Odhiambo (University of Nairobi, UoN) visited the Artisanal & Small-scale Gold Mining area of Masara in County Migori, south west Kenya. They were assisted by Evance Juma who drove the 8-hours from Nairobi, around Migori County and 8-hours back again.
This was a scoping visit for a research project which is part of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) research of BGS. The project in in collaboration with UoN.
