Couldn't agree more, I've been to so many shows where I get chatting to other attendees and often we talk about whose table to avoid. So a bad attitude can definitely have a knock on effect and follow you.

Different country (Germany) but my experience here is that people don't wanna engage at all. As soon as you say "hi", they hightail it outta there... I actually started to ignore them until they try to get my attention. Has served me better in terms of sales.

This advice you have is 100% spot on. I've been doing shows for over a decade and I would rather have a con filled with genuine connections and conversations over sales. Your brand's foundation needs to be built on good merit. That good merit will lead to genuine sales where the buyer will truly fall in love with you and your work.

When I'm at a convention and I see an artist at a table and chat and when I see other customers coming, I offer for them to look through the artist folder when there are multiple folders so that could help the artist with potential sales too.

OMG, I’m guilty of this. I LOVE talking to creators I admire! I try to not bother them if they are busy. I definitely buy at their table. Usually a couple hundred dollar commission or sketches and issues. I hope I don’t come off as annoying around these creators.
